ROSE, Okla. – Many people may not realize there’s a “dirty dozen” list of produce items that should be bought organically because of their absorbency of pesticides, which remain on the produce even after washing.
But Richard Catcher, a Cherokee Nation citizen and owner of Rose Prairie Farm, said he knows about the list. However, he said, some people avoid buying organic produce because it costs a little more than conventional produce. But by spending a few bucks more, they could actually be doing their health a favor, he said.
