On this Father’s Day I’m thinking of the thousands of children separated from their parents at the border. These children should not be a negotiating tool. And reuniting them with their families would reaffirm America’s belief in & support for all parents who love their children.— Bill Clinton (@BillClinton) June 17, 2018
This is the Tucson chief of police.
Troubling questions for police chiefs whose departments directly or indirectly assist w/immigration enforcement that separates parents from children: Is this consistent with the oath you took to serve & protect? Is this humane or moral? Does this make your community safer? pic.twitter.com/o7vVZBn0K8— Chris Magnus (@ChiefCMagnus) June 16, 2018
If it was immigrants whose children were taken, I would also be up in arms. These are NOT migrants, they are illegal immigrants who have no legal right to be here in any fashion.
Now the actions of separating children is an issue that needs to be addressed, on that I will agree. Taking children should NOT occur but let's get it right, the children are NOT taken from migrants or immigrants, they are from those who have no status, they are violating laws by simply being here, they are ILLEGAL.
Wrong on two counts. They're taking children from asylum seekers too, and those people are not considered illegal.
Count two? It's just plain evil.
"I'm in McAllen, Texas. About to go inside the epicenter of family separations: the Border Patrol's Central Processing Center - Ursula. The most family separations are happening here and Border Patrol is going to show us around. No cameras allowed inside. Stay tuned. https://t.co/BT4IagPXk1"
