Don't just complain about the situation. Suggest a solution.

No, I'm sorry but it is not my job nor in my skill set to solve a world wide problem. My suggestion however would be for the United States to once again work WITH the rest to solve these issues.

Again - following a policy does not absolve those from the crimes that result. The world is not asking the US to accept all that show up - they are asking them to treat them humanly and to fix what has gone wrong.

Sadly many countries wrongly believe that "America" is a sanctuary and that all people are treated humanly.

The system is not designed to process so many people at one time. Would it be better to keep the families together in tent cities in bad weather? Are the children better off under proper feeding and medical conditions? The system is not perfect.

Yes, yes it would.

I don't think you have been reading this thread and the articles connected to it.

I think you cherry pick the stories and only see the things you want. Where are the children? They are in a better place than they were during their trip here or before.

If even one kid is being lied to or beaten or sexually abused that is one too many. If you feel ok thinking that the kids are better off then keep telling yourself that. I'm sure some are, just as some first rate american kids may be better off away from their parents.

At times we all rationalize things we hear/read/see... it's a human trait.  In Canada we are going through a period of reconciliation and education about residential schools. The children were stolen from their families, forced to only speak English and were denied any of their culture. Caregivers including nuns beat them so badly and so often many died from infection or pneumonia. Those children were buried without service, notice to parents or grave markers.

As a nation we rationalized this by saying the children were better off...

And even though the First Nation People are speaking out about what has happened and our government is accepting responsibility there are those that appose this vehemently.

In all the pictures are any of the children being abused?

Yes, one abuse is too many. Did any of them get abused on the way here\? Were they abused where they were?

Yes, it is a horrible condition. Your view is just not the whole story.

Re: Canadian story

Yes, another catastrophe.

Why do there have to be pictures? There are affidavits. There is other evidence. These children are being traumatized by their treatment AFTER they entered the United States. They deserve better from us.
