AEGram....I have good intentions, I TRY to do both housework and MC...sometimes it works and other times it's like "oh, that can wait a few more minutes".  I DO set the timer on the stove when cooking or I would have a lot of burnt food that would have to go in the garbage.  Even then when the timer goes off I will be like Ok, ok, wait just a minute almost finished with this room.  Of course the timer will not turn itself off so I HAVE to get rid of that annoying beeping.  But, at least I do not burn my food!

I have a baking achievement instead of a game one. This week, at work, in the new toaster oven, I baked my best cake ever. In less time than the directions said, my cake came out moist, flavorful and fluffy.

I use my toaster-oven all the time. But I never tried a cake. Very interesting.

Congratulations Myelle01!! What kind of cake was it? Even with a mix if my cake looks good it tastes awful, but if it looks awful it tastes good!! 

Thanks Katie. The cake was a Dunkin Hines, chocolate, just the right size mix. It comes with cake mix, frosting mix and a pan. It makes a small cake that feeds up to 4 people unless you like smaller slices, then you can feed up to 8.

Lvlslgr, You can bake everything in a toaster oven that you can bake in a conventional oven.

I'll have to check that out.  Maybe I can bake that one and it look and taste good!!

If you use a toaster oven, bake for only 30 minutes. Then again, you might want to check it at that time in any oven for doneness. Good luck. FYI, DH right size comes in other bakeable desserts. Maybe you will find one or more that you will like.

Thank you for the info.  I used to call my Mom or MawMaw with baking questions, but they are both gone now. I love strawberry cake with strawberry icing.  Hope DH has one of those!! Thanks again.

Bake a sponge cake with a bit of lemon juice inside (use a round form). Before you squeeze the lemon remove the zest with a zester.

Slice the cake in the middle and carefully apply some cuts to the top half (from center to rim) so that the center remains intact, the middle is grazed and the rim is cut.

Sugar halved or quartered strawberries and mix the juice with gelatine.

Put whipped cream on the bottom half of the cake. Build a heap on it with the sugared strawberries. Put some more cream on the heap, then cover it with the sliced sponge top. Cover all with the rest of the cream. Decorate with the now sticky juice, lemon cest and a strawberry on top.
