I am so grateful for the compassion that our MC community has for each other. Thank you all for your good wishes.  Now can someone send a pic of a new baby, grandbaby, or at least a pet , to cheer up the Roll Call? I mean, last year was a Roller Coaster, and we aren't over with the ride yet. Please, friends, tell us some good news?

Hi,

After four years of searching. We found a new house. Is that cheery enough?

Take care

After trying for a month we are finally going to get a rescue pup today. I will try to post a picture of him in about 8 hours if I’m not too busy hugging him and cleaning up messes!

edit: I can’t figure out how to attach photo. Will keep trying

New homes and puppy poop! Now they're good distractions.

My family has had some great news. My niece’s son and his wife (who did all the work) had a baby boy last Tuesday, We’ve gotten pictures of Henry James (my brother is Jim) with his parents and grandmother. As soon as we’re sure it’s safe I’m eager to see him. Moonki

The weather forecast today was for 36 C degrees (that's 97 for those in Fahrenheit-land). The happy is that it hasn't so far eventuated, at nearly 3pm we are only sitting at 31 C degrees (88 F), which has made for a more pleasant work day so far. The hot north-west winds they were expecting haven't come yet, but the wind has turned from NE to N now, so NW may still be on its way.

Congratulations, to all. Pictures are great, only not as good as holding your newest family member. Lovely news and all is well with them too. Stay safe, and thanks for sharing your wonderful news.

Thought you all might like to see the Poem my clever Brother wrote in the early hours of this morning (26 Jan). He got woke up by his cat, then brother couldn't get back to sleep.

So he wrote this. The lump in my throat got bigger as the more I read, then the eyes began to water. I hope you enjoy it as so many friends and family I have shared it with.

Take care and keep safe

Why fret about the nation, no need to say amen
Because I say with every confidence, the sun will shine again
It’s four in the morning, and my head it will not sleep
Like many at the moment, it’s pointless counting sheep
Tis best not to just lie there, to worry or to fret
But use the time wisely, to cast an open net
Don’t let dreams disturb you, give them never mind
For when the day is dawning, joy is what you’ll find
Joy is all around us, in family and with friends
Just enjoy another cuppa, is what Dr Hilary recommends
Why fret about the nation, no need to say amen
Because I say with every confidence, the sun will shine again
Put on an extra kilo, had one too many pies?
She loves you more than ever, your cuddlier in her eyes!
Still in your pyjamas, and it quarter after three?
Just enjoy your time together, happiness comes free
Why fret about the nation, no need to say amen
Because I say with every confidence, the sun will shine again
The pubs have all shut up shop, barbers there are none
My hair is long & white now, but I refuse to wear a bun
I long to take a nice long drive, to find a cosy pub
To enjoy a pint of IPA, and some good ole fashion grub
I long to hug the grand kids, to hear them all complain
Grandad’s hogging all the blanket, and telling jokes again
I want to hear them bitch n fight, and have them run around
After all this time in lockdown, there is no better sound
My neighbours are a moaning, about the lovely smell
It wafts through open window, and up their noses  dwell
As I bake another banana cake, a pie or lovely stew
The nation‘s never cooked so much, so much for oh so few
Why fret about the nation, no need to say amen
Because I say with every confidence, the sun will shine again
I’m tired of all the telly, of endless old repeats
I want some salty popcorn, and itchy, scratchy seats
I want a brand new movie, I’d even watch Tom Cruise
Cos anything is better, than Countdown, Lorraine or the news
Don’t let this Covid beat you, or cause you extra strife
Wear your mask at a distance and help us save a life
Be safe at home and shelter, it’s only for a while
We’ll all be back to normal soon, and living it in style
So don’t be so downhearted, feel free to have a moan.
We are all in this together, you know you’re not alone
Take the jab when offered, you know it all makes sense
For he who dares wins, with every recompense
Don’t fret about the nation, no need to say amen
Because I say again with confidence, the sun will shine again!
