Nadia Comaneci Awarded First Perfect 10-1976 (Comaneci became the first gymnast in Olympic history to be awarded the perfect score of 10.0 for her performance on the uneven bars. She went on to record the perfect 10.0 six more times and became the youngest all-around Olympic gold medalist ever. The manufacturer of the Olympic scoreboard, Omega SA, created the board with the idea that a perfect 10 was not unattainable. Therefore, the board was unable to display a 10. Therefore, when Nadia was given a perfect 10 her score came up at a “1.00”)

Queen Elizabeth II coronation - June 2, 1953. Elizabeth II ascended the throne at the age of 25 upon the death of her father, George VI, on February 6, 1952, being proclaimed queen by her privy and executive councils shortly afterwards. The coronation was held more than one year later because of the tradition of allowing an appropriate length of time to pass after a monarch dies before holding such festivals. It also gave the planning committees adequate time to make preparations for the ceremony.

Red Sox Break The Curse-Oct 27, 2004 (Red Sox win first championship since 1918 On October 27, 2004, the Boston Red Sox win the World Series for the first time since 1918, finally vanquishing the so-called "Curse of the Bambino".  The "Curse of the Bambino" was a superstition evolving from the failure of the Boston Red Sox baseball team to win the World Series in the 86-year period from 1918 to 2004. While some fans took the curse seriously, most used the expression in a tongue-in-cheek manner. This misfortune began after the Red Sox sold star player Babe Ruth, sometimes nicknamed as "The Bambino", to the New York Yankees in the off-season of 1919–1920. Before that point, the Red Sox had been one of the most successful professional baseball franchises, winning the first World Series and amassing five World Series titles. After the sale, they went without a title for nearly a century as the previously lackluster Yankees became one of the most successful franchises in North American professional sports. The curse became a focal point of the Yankees–Red Sox rivalry over the years)

Ulysses S. Grant promoted to Lieutenant General in March 1864 by President Lincoln. When the Civil War broke out in 1861, Grant joined the Union Army and rapidly rose in rank to general. Grant was persistent in his pursuit of the Confederate enemy, winning major battles and gaining Union control of the Mississippi River. For over a year Grant's Army of the Potomac fought the Army of Northern Virginia led by Robert E. Lee in the Overland Campaign and at Petersburg. On April 9, 1865, Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox, and the war ended.

It was the second of the Indochina Wars and was officially fought between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was supported by the Soviet Union, China, and other communist allies; South Vietnam was supported by the United States, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Thailand and other anti-communist allies.
