Tyburn was primarily known for its gallows, which functioned as the main execution site for London-area prisoners from the 16th through to the 18th centuries. ... On the day of execution, the condemned were transported to the Tyburn gallows from Newgate in a horse-drawn open cart.

Zoological Garden, London

The London Zoo celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1976 by opening the New Lion House. This is a completely different concept for displaying animals - instead of the traditional box-like cages there are large amorphous enclosures within which the cage is hardly noticeable. The look of the natural habitat of the animal has been re-created, mainly through imaginative landscape design. Grassland, arid zones and watery landscapes are all there and many unusual plants have been included for effect. The public are 'managed' by the design of the enclosures themselves which provide a natural separation from the animals. (Landscape Architect: Sir Peter Shepheard). Other buildings of landscape interest are the Aviary, the Penguin Pool, the Ape House, the Camel House and the Elephant House. Prince Albert Road, Regent's Park, London NW1.

Round 4 ...

American Printing House for the Blind - is an American non-for-profit corporation in Louisville, Kentucky promoting independent living for people who are blind and visually impaired. Established in 1858, the American Printing House for the Blind has provided ancillary services and products to the visually-impaired community for more than a century. Inside the museum, visitors can witness the institution’s contribution to the blind with materials and technology that helps foster well-being and independence. You can take a free guided tour of the factory to understand the advancement of resources since the 1850s – from Braille, writing and audio devices, to digital media, computers as well as mobility canes and dog harnesses.

I worked at APH for two years as a data entry operator in the Braille division - Jan. 1991 - Dec. 1992.

I worked across the street from this Museum. It has a beautiful courtyard I would visit on my lunch hour.
