(On Feb 4, 1964, the Beatles landed at New York’s recently renamed Kennedy Airport (now universally known as JFK) to be greeted by thousands of screaming fans and their first press conference was packed with 200 journalists. The headline on the Daily Express’s front page the next day read, “The Bugs are here”, a reference to one American TV commentator’s description of them as “the British bugs”)

Hicky's Bengal Gazette (or the Original Calcutta General Advertiser was an English language weekly newspaper published in Kolkata, the capital of British India. It was the first newspaper printed in Asia, and was published for two years, between 1780 and 1782, before the East India Company seized the newspaper's types and printing press. Founded by James Augustus Hicky, a highly eccentric Irishman who had previously spent two years in jail for debt, the newspaper was a strong critic of the administration of Governor General Warren Hastings. James Dean Killed As Result Of California Car Accident (The death of Hollywood actor James Dean occurred on September 30, 1955, near Cholame, California. Dean had previously competed in several auto racing events, and was traveling to a sports car racing competition when his car crashed at the junction of California State Route 46 (former 466) and California State Route 41.
