Valley of Death - Brazil.

Cubatao in Brazil was notorious for lethally high levels of air pollution, which led to malformations in newborn babies and widespread health problems.

But by the early 1990s, the city known as the "Valley of Death" had fought back, cutting pollution levels by 90%.

However, Cubatao is still among the most polluted cities in the region, and must work hard to maintain cleaner air.

Wet Tropics of Queensland (stretches along the northeast coast of Australia for some 450 kilometres. Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve (is an ecological research site located primarily in East Bethel, Minnesota in the counties of Anoka and Isanti on the northern edge of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. Encompassing 5,400 acres of native upland forests and prairie and lowland swamps and meadows, the site contains over 900 plots of long-term experimental research which evaluate plant competition and biodiversity. Dynamics - Ecosystems are dynamic entities—they are subject to periodic disturbances and are in the process of recovering from some past disturbance. Ecosystems in similar environments that are located in different parts of the world can end up doing things very differently simply because they have different pools of species present.
