Perennial Gardening Month (June) - is celebrated in June every year and the perfect way to honor this month would be to plant some perennials. These flower year after year, thus giving you a beautiful garden to boast about and admire. Small flowering perennials bloom every spring and summer, however, they lose their flowers in fall and winter. June is the month in which perennials bloom in abundance and, thus, the Perennial Plant Association designated it as Perennial Gardening Month. The right timing is key to planting perennials. The idea is to encourage perennial gardening or rejuvenating an existing garden in the month of June. The perfect time to plant them is generally in spring due to the warming soil and sun. If you already have planted perennials, this is an ideal time to replant them into different pots and locations if they have grown bigger.

Quaker State 400 (is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race that was run annually each March at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia from 1960 to 2010 and as a July race since 2021. The race was the first of two races held at the Atlanta track every season, with the Dixie 500, being the second and run at various times (originally November, later October and currently the second race of the season), now run as the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. The race was 500.5 miles (805.5 km) in length. In August 2010, Atlanta Motor Speedway announced that they would no longer run the spring race, instead choosing to focus on the Labor Day weekend race at the track beginning in 2011. The end of the Atlanta 500 permitted the addition of a race at Kentucky Speedway starting in 2011, primarily from litigation by Kentucky's former owners and a settlement of that trial. On September 30, 2020, Speedway Motorsports announced Kentucky would lose its Cup race and the event be moved back to Atlanta, to be held July 11, 2021. The race will only be 400 miles (260 laps), owing to Shell's prior sponsorship agreements and the first since 1966 to be held at the track at 400.4 miles (644.4 km). When the start times for all of NASCAR's events were announced, due to recommendation by fans and the track, the event will be held under the lights in 2023)

Rice Krispies Treat Day (Sept. 18) - is an unofficial holiday dedicated to the no-bake, quick to make yummy gooey sweet treats. Since the treat is so easy to make, it has become a staple favorite of millions of households in the U.S. that consume the treat on a daily basis. The treat gained so much popularity over the years that it was launched officially by brands across the world and sold at supermarkets. To celebrate the day, munch on some Rice Krispies and share your love for the delicious confectionery.
Interesting fact: In Australia and New Zealand, where the cereal is marketed as Rice Bubbles, the sweet treat is called rice bubble slices or rice bubble cakes.

Synchronous Fireflies ((Photinus carolinus) are one of at least 19 species of fireflies that live in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They are one of only a couple species in North America whose individuals are known to synchronize their flashing light patterns. Their mating display is spectacular, and usually takes place between May and June within a two-week window—depending on the temperature and moisture of the soil. The synchronized flashes of this species take place in bursts of five to eight every few seconds or so)
these were the dates for 2019, this year it was held June 4 - June 11..........................

Tropical Cocktails Day (June 26) - was started by Jace Shoemaker-Galloway in 2013 to celebrate the flavorful drinks that are most associated with tiki bars and are more often than not made with rum. Tropical cocktails became popular after two tiki bars, Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic's, opened in California in the 1930's. Both establishments claimed to have invented one of the most popular tropical cocktails, the Mai Tai. Since their formation, tiki bars have portrayed a romanticized view of what Polynesian drinks and culture are like. After about thirty years of great renown, tiki bars fell out of popularity. But, there was a resurgence in the 1990's, and in the 21st century tropical libations are once again filling people's glasses.

Utepils: Translation: A beer enjoyed outdoors, often used to talk about the first beer enjoyed outside of the season. Although Norwegians can enjoy a chilled beer any time of the year, nothing says summer like a good utepils. From the Norwegian word ute for “outside” and pils (short for Pilsner), it’s the ultimate ode to enjoying an outside beer at the beach, in the park or in the privacy of your own balcony or garden.
