Is this new? In the East, In the Magic Council Chamber. Click the side of the book and bookworms come out. I have never seen that before. (missed a morph)

No, it's not new. AEGram has it listed in the thread "Game Interactives" -
MAGIC COUNCIL CHAMBER
… Click on chain holding Code of Unbreakable Rules and “worms” will come out along chain on both sides …. Message: “Whoa! Real bookworms!”

Same here ... it was just about a month ago that I hit it. I was like, "What the heck?!?"
