I was disheartened to read that members believe MC will end soon and without notice. I will be lost. Does anyone have suggestions for new absorbing games?

The Panic Room (on Steam)

Wanderland (on Steam)

Hidden City (GS5)

Sherlock (GS5)

Those are the four daily HOS I've been playing, besides MC, and most all of them do events pretty regularly. :) The Panic Room does like 4 -5 a month, sometimes more...

I didn't know about the last two until I read the posts here - the graphics are gorgeous and detailed - very intricate -and if you play on PC and don't have Windows 10, you can play directly from the GS5 site (what I've been doing).

Unfortunately, all of the above games have timers (but oftentimes there are ways around that if it becomes a problem...)

ETA- Wanderland no longer has story updates, but there are a lot of levels to accomplish, tournaments to take part in, and from what I understand, they do a Christmas event still. :)

In fact - with the setup of Hidden City and Sherlock - it is a lot like how Wanderland did things, so I'm wondering if it is the same devs who did all those games...

i wonder if the games you suggested, and they sound great, use data from the internet. I do not have unlimited data plan.  Thanks, Sye

What is your monthly data cap?

Seekers Notes by Mytona is also enjoyable but unfortunately uses data from the internet.

I downloaded Seekers Notes but it wouldn't open for me to play it somehow.

Really? I’m sorry that happened. I have no idea what could be wrong.

Hi, was excited to try out the G5 games (didn't like Steam), but the Hidden City app wouldn't load on  my PC, Windows 10.  So I gave up.  Too old, too tired to do an all day investigation when my equipment meets all stated requirements for the game.

That's such a shame because Hidden City is a beautiful game.  I play on Windows 10 and I think Hidden City was in the Microsoft Store App.  I wish I could help, but I'm just not very good technically.

I have been playing Hidden City every day - and I like it okay - but I think I like Sherlock better.

It is the same setup as Hidden City - has events and gifts to open, etc - but what I like is that it is historical mixed with fantasy. Basically Moriarty (Sherlock Holmes's nemesis) has gone into beloved classics and fairy tales and screwed things up. Sherlock, Watson, or others must enter the books (which are HOS) to investigate the mystery and rectify matters. The books you can travel into include Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Around the World in 80 days, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - and more. And of course, Sherlock Homes' mysteries, the first being The Hound of the Baskervilles - (you unlock the stories by reaching levels, and each story has 3 HOS scenes to go into). It's made by the same people who did Hidden City (and Wanderland?) so I don't need to tell you the graphics are very good.

Right now the event takes place on a mysterious Island, involving Captain Nemo and the Nautilus. :)

Whereas Hidden City has a map to navigate - this is more simple with a 19th century library - and each rack of books is a different story/adventure.

If anyone is playing this let me know - I need friends! lol (in both games really).

Also, you have an option with every HOS - to play it, or a Match 3 game.
