Kindle problem, forcing device move.   Technical Issues

Hi all!

I play as Justine and for the past few days only Justine2.  I moved my game last week from an older dying Kindle Fire to a brand new one.  I managed to get my friends invited, and a lot have already come back, and I will have to invite them again once my game is restored onto yet another new device.  This time it will be another android device purchased yesterday.  The new version of the Kindle is impossible to use to play MC, as the game now uses the entire screen, and the Kindle's task bar is still at the bottom of the screen and as far as I could tell in several days of option searching this task bar is not moveable, and you can't use any of the bottom buttons through it.  This makes several aspects of the game un-playable.  About the only things I've been able to to is play are HOSs and gift my friends. The new Samsung tablet allows the task bar to remain off screen unless needed and is only a swipe away.

So, I've seen one other person here on the forum post about trying to use a new Kindle, with the same problem I had.  I hope anyone playing on Kindle sees this message and does not purchase the newest version of the Kindle Fire 8" in order play Midnight Castle.  It will not work.

I've had a wonderful helper from BF games helping me out in moving my game content.  He now has to do that for the second time in a week.  I hope this move goes as well as the move last week.  Just wanted this warning to get out there, and let my friends know what is going on with me, inviting them back yet again.

I hope to be back in all ways soon.

Happy gaming All!

Hi and thank you for keeping your friends updated, with all your moving about. You must have packed and unpacked your castle boxes and chests enough times now. It’s good to hear you have a wonderful helper at BF who has helped with removal and insulation of your possessions. I hope you settle in soon and are back storming the castle.

With the problems with Android I can see why you have moved. To be unable to play such a wonderful game is not fair. So many on all of the platforms seems to have trouble at some time and it’s heart warming to hear some good news.

oh and for yesterday happy St David’s day to everyone.

Thank you, hugs Tracysheep

Thanks Tracy for  your concern.  I have just received my game content on my new tablet from BF.  They did a great job taking care of me this week!  I've sent all of my friends a new invitation, again, and hope they don't wonder what is up with me, and not come back.  I appreciate everyone!

My game is now running perfectly, and now, on the upside, I don't have to deal with Amazon and their glacially slow releasing of updates.

Hope to see everyone, back at the Castle!

Just an observation from an iPad player.....

1. Amazon late with releases to Kindle players

2. Kindle Fire design interferes with MD game play .....and if it does with MC, I'm sure there are similar issues with other games.

Conclusion: Kindle is not a "go to" device for playing Midnight Castle or possibly other games.

Your observation is correct, AEGram.  I played MC on my old Kindle for 4 years without any problems except those late updates.  I posted my problems with the newest Kindle and it's updated software so others might know ahead of time that the new Kindles are not compatible with MC anymore.  I found a sweet little Samsung tablet to switch to that has an option to hide that bottom task bar so it doesn't conflict with games that use the whole screen.  I'm afraid I couldn't spring for a new iPad right now.  I plan to post something to Amazon about the issue I encountered with that new Kindle.  I'll be using it for reading, not gaming now.

Thanks for adding a little more to my conversation concerning the Kindles.  They are a great bang for the buck when comes to small tablets, but they do have their drawbacks.

Excellent, I’m well pleased. Plus I love ‘glacially slow’ term. I’m going to keep that for future use.
As mini lovers we know a few petrol heads. So when we get into another car that isn’t a mini and is a little slower. We say it has a calendar for a Speedo.

Hugs and I hope all your friends return, maybe some new ones too.

Thanks so much Tracy!  I'm really happy with my new device, and about half of my friends are already back!  Now I'm looking forward to Spring!

I have the same problem with my new Fire 8 tablet - very discouraging! The interesting thing is that the navigation buttons do disappear when playing Candy Crush - must be a problem with Amazon. I guess I'll be looking for an Android tablet also.

So sorry to hear that you've got the same issue!  I didn't find any games that I had loaded on my new Fire that didn't have the task bar problem.  I'm keeping the Kindle for reading mostly, but I bought a Galaxy A7 Lite for gaming.  It's only slightly larger than the Fire, does a lot, and was the most affordable small tablet I found.  So far it's great!

I'm planning on posting a review on Amazon explaining the issue for others to see before buying.  Maybe Amazon will fix this issue with their next generation.

Happy gaming, and sorry you've hit a snag too.

I bought the Fire 8 because my old Kindle Fire was dropped - screen cracked - hate to give up on Midnight Castle on that device because I'm on level 67 - battery is getting flaky also - it's always something! lol
