I don't see KelliJo in the list available on the forum but here is my response to her regarding have I managed to acquire the download for the Castle Challenge prior to the 2023 Spring Event. Short answer is no...I did figure out how to update my BF Game Manager (under the "About" tab not the "Download" tab) (who knew?) so am at the required 3.5 (was 3.3) and was hoping with that fix the update could progress....Didn't....My next plan is to let my computer firewall accept BF Game files...

Anyway  thank you so much friends, I lost my first game on my Android tablet so it's been a struggle to finally catch up to where I was at before, thanks to everyone.

And back to the Castle I go....

I thought it was PC but I needed to make certain before telling you this. Because you don't want to do it with iOS and Android games. 

So, if the update isn't showing in the Game Manager, you need to uninstall and reinstall your MC game. When you reinstall the game it will automatically have the update included. There are a lot of us who have had to use this method to get the latest update for the past year or so.

Great response. I had to do that to get the update for my PC. It's unbelievable how many players have had problems updating, and it wasn't via the Game Manager.

Thank you for replying here. I was about to ask in game if you were on the Delphi forum for MC and suggest you come here.  LvlSlgr has very helpfully given you the same answer I was going to suggest - uninstall and re-install your game.  As Shylo said, the solution has worked for her and several other players.  If you are not sure how to uninstall and re-install (preferably via the Game Manager), please post a request here and we will gladly help you.

The update I was referring to was a content update (for those players at the top level - once completed it will take you to level 121) but there should have been a patch in it to enable the devs to start the CC without needing any further downloads.  A Game Manager update will not affect MC or MC downloads as it is solely for the operation of the Game Manager.  

And I said the Spring Event will be mid to late April because we will need to complete the current CC (which has no Spring Event-related tasks). We are only on Day 4.  It has been the pattern for the last few Events that a CC with Event-related tasks starts shortly after the Event begins and runs for most of the Event.  To allow the Event CC to take place we must first complete this CC.  So that is why I said April for the Spring Event.

This is the first time I am not able to get the update. I tried manually getting it but nothing. My game manager & browser are both updated. I am afraid to uninstall & reinstall because of all the people who have lost their games and progress lately. I need to find the info on how to back up all the files again before even trying. I would appreciate any recommendations

If you are on PC then uninstalling then reinstalling seems to be the best way to get the update, because once you launch the game the game will update automatically. If you are on IOS or Android, don't do this you'll lose your game.

1. PC is the only platform that uses the Game Manager.....so that means you play on PC

2. IF the update is not showing up or did show up and went away, you will need to uninstall/reinstall the game......again, this is the ONLY platform on which you can safely uninstall/reinstall the game without losing anything.

3. To uninstall/reinstall....open Game Manager, click on the trash can next to Midnight Castle, confirm deletion, stay in Game Manager, on left side, click on PC Games, in the search box type Midnight Castle, click on the install icon and wait for the game to install.

4. After installed, click on Play button within Game Manager or on the desktop icon to open the game...................there will then be the big download as your game loads. When finished, you will have your entire game intact along with the new material from the update.

5. Relative to "I need to find the backup files" before trying.........................There is NO backup you can perform. There are no game files on your computer. The only files on your computer contain your friends' list and your ID. When you launch the game, those files tell the BF server which game to deliver to you ...your friends that are residing within the files on your computer will attach to that game and display to you.

IF your "game save" fails to get to the BF servers, there will be no record of your game on the servers at all. Having the files from your computer will not retrieve that game....it will just connect to the BF servers, the servers have no record of that game, so they deliver a new game at Level 1 to your computer.
