Captain Queeg, a fictional character, the unstable skipper of the destroyer-minesweeper U.S.S. Caine in The Caine Mutiny (1951) by Herman Wouk. The character was memorably portrayed by Humphrey Bogart in a film also entitled The Caine Mutiny (1954).

Horace Rumpole (fictional character, a barrister featured in many television scripts and novels of John Mortimer. The rumpled, disreputable, and curmudgeonly Rumpole often wins cases despite the disdain of his more aristocratic colleagues. He is fond of cheap wine (“Château Thames Embankment”) and Keats’s poetry and refers to his wife as “She Who Must Be Obeyed” (an allusion to the title character of H. Rider Haggard’s She). First introduced in a 1975 BBC television drama, Rumpole reappeared many times in a television series that ran in the late 1970s and early 1980s)

Tom Sawyer, fictional character, the young protagonist of the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) by Mark Twain. Considered the epitome of the all-American boy, Tom Sawyer is full of mischief but basically pure-hearted. He is probably best remembered for the incident in which he gets a number of other boys to whitewash his Aunt Polly’s fence—an unpleasant task in his eyes—by making the work seem to be extremely absorbing.

Wicked Witch of the West (is a fictional character who appears in the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900), created by American author L. Frank Baum. In Baum's subsequent Oz novels, it is the Nome King who is the principal villain; the Wicked Witch of the West is rarely even referred to again after her death in the first book. The witch's most popular depiction was in the classic 1939 film based on Baum's novel, where she was portrayed by Margaret Hamilton. Hamilton's characterization introduced green skin and this has been continued in later literary and dramatic representations, including Gregory Maguire's revisionist Oz novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (1995) and its musical stage adaptation Wicked (2003), the 2013 film Oz the Great and Powerful, and the television series Once Upon a Time and Emerald City)

Trivia: Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch, was badly burned making her smoky exit from Munchkinland — her dress, hat, and broom caught on fire and severely burned her face and hand. She had to recuperate for six weeks before resuming filming.
Also, Hamilton's green face paint was so toxic that she (and several other actors) couldn't eat once it was applied and had to subsist on a liquid diet via straw during the day. Plus, her face stayed green for weeks after shooting because of the copper-based ingredients.
And after all that, on top of the physical torture, most of the Wicked Witch's scenes had to be edited or cut completely after being deemed to terrifying for children.

Xipe Totec was the Aztec god of agriculture, seasons, goldsmiths, and disease. He was often depicted wearing a suit of flayed skin, and his associated ceremonies emphasized his choice of attire. While Xipe Totec lacked a dense mythology, he nevertheless played an important role in Aztec life.
