Rats, I had a message typed and about ready to post and I did something wrong and it disappeared Oh. well. Today is veterans days down here. the local public school had a program and introduces all of us. Then they treated us to a noon meal. It was the same the students got. It was very tasty and filling. This evening I am going to the next town for a rib eye steak meal. I am taking my niece as a guest. The only cost was a call to register. That is fair so they may have an idea of how many might show up.

Well back to work. Or is it back to play.

Veterans day is Remembrance Day here.  Same difference.  Canada, the USA and Britain were allies.  Other countries as well.  My daddy, Cpl John Gerald Kennedy fought in WWII.  He is buried in the Field of Honour (sorry for my Canadian spelling).  We buried my mom's ashes there as well.

I am pleased that you got a good lunch with the kids.

I guess it is time for me to write another line. Our Thanksgiving is approaching. Most of the time my Sister will wait until now to tell me that I am welcome. Most of the time I accept. This year I might have different plans. If the weather cooperates I will be making a 180 mile or so to see another family. She and I have friends for 25 or 30 years. The last time I saw the family one member of the family said the only time I got to see them was weddings and funerals. A month or so ago she asked what my plans were for Turkey day. I accepted the unasked invitation. I am good friends of the whole family. Anyway it will be fun. Type more later.

I am not sure what a VSO is but I have an idea.
the first one I tried to work with made me feel as a third class citizen. Well maybe a second class. I had to drive 35 miles then try to find him. I gave up on him after two visits. .

Let me explain a bit o the problem. When you get to Nowhere, OK go about 150 miles NW. That will give you a clue. He told me I had to call Amarillo, TX, my home area. It was the closes to me, Only 180 miles. I think that a wee silly. I found a contact North of me in Kansas. They said that if I had a Kansas address I could go to Dodge City. Only 75 miles from me. My brother lives there and is letting me "live" with him. I am very uneducated about things. Anyway the VSO go me signed up for medical.
We talked a bit about disability. Two or tree months later I had some questions so I made a journey up to his local monthly office (35 miles from home). So welcome to #3. then there was #4. I started making the monthly trip. Last time guess what. #5 came with #4. #3 did get a claim in for disability. A month or so later VA asked for proof that I was in Vietnam. He had to explain to VA that the VSM I had on my 216 was a Vietnam Service Medal. Duh!

I could write more but you may feel my frustrations about things or not Enough for now

Sorry We missed Your call We were out Christmas Shopping, Heather & Her Husband are coming for Thanksgiving so we want to send their Christmas presents along home with them instead of Spending Money on Postage.
