Tom Hanks, again under the direction of Ron Howard, makes a third outing as symbologist Robert Langdon in the tale of a plot to fix overpopulation that unleashing a plague upon the world from a bioengineered virus.
Langdon wakes up in a Florence, Italy hospital with no memory of the last few days and with the knowledge that someone or some group is out to kill him. As his memory slowly returns, he finds himself trying to figure out who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in this tale of intrigue, double crosses and post-medieval architecture as Hanks follows a trail to try and find a submerged bag holding the lethal virus before those who are trying to unleash a plague on the world.
Howard’s direction and Hanks’ acting is spot on, and the trail leading from Florence to Venice to Istanbul is carefully laid out as Langdon follows architectural clues and concealed messages to find the location of the virus pack.
Anther victory for Howard and Hanks.
