Lights Out (2016)
A rarity: an effective and intelligent horror movie!
Sophie has a friend from the mid-eighties when she was a patient in a psychiatric hospital for bipolar disorder. Her name is Diana. The problem is that Diana died back in the mid eighties when she was a patient in the hospital and she has linked herself to Sophie.
Her link is strongest when Sophie is peaking with bipolar. And she is very possessive and jealous. She’s already killed her husband, who was trying to get her hospitalized again. And now she’s after the remaining two people who are getting in the way of her monopoly on Sophie: her children. Martin is a youngster who lives at home with his mother and Rebecca left home, unable to handle her mother’s disorder, and lives on her own.
But Martin, who lives at home, is seen as the real threat and she has targeted him to be the next to die.
An extremely effective horror film about an evil spirit with evil intentions that comes out with the dark.
