Tear Garden - Have a Nice Trip (Metropolis)

Tear Garden is a side project of cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy, Download, Plateau) and Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots), coming out only very occasionally.  With Key on electronics and general weirdness and Ka-Spel on vocals, keys and guitar; together they weave a hypnotic pattern of modern psychedeics.

Ka-Spel’s voice sounds eerily like the late Daevid Allen (Gong), and its nasal quality adds to the strangeness that indescribably describes the sound of Tear Garden.  Part Download, part Dots; the quality is unmistakable, with bizarre electronic patterns, gentle chords and vocals (occasionally sung through the synthesizer).

The sound is perhaps of cult appeal as opposed to widespread appeal, but those that get the trippiness will indeed have a nice trip.
