Alan,

Good idea, I hope this takes off. Now I'll have a place to hang when I get the ST1100. I'm leaving Nashville for Central MI early in the AM on my ACE, I like my ACE 1100 and have no plans to cut it loose, but jaunts like this would be a lot easier on an ST. I probably should have gone for an ACE-T when I bought this bike. I miss seeing your flame job on the sig, that was a nice bike. I saw it up close at the Laquinta during the Hoot, the pictures didn't do it justice. Nice wing!

Ride safe,

I could only hope that this could be as successful as the good old SRF.

I basically converted the Spirt to a Tourer. And like you probably should have bought that in the beginning. I had no problem on the Bun Burner 1500 with the Spirit. But I am planning to hit all 48 states next year and the Wing will make that job easier.

Good luck on getting that ST, I saw a guy on one at Deal's Gap and he was really kicking it.

Hi Brett.

I really like the Venture. Heck, I like all bikes.

Don't be a stranger and be sure to pass the word around.

Alan, I just got a message through our local SCRC about your forum. The timing could not be better. Just tonight I added a Yamaha Venture to my stable and was wondering where I might find other touring types. It won't take the place of the Magna, but now I have something more comfortable for long distance riding.

Welcome Kent.

I noticed you are an Iron Butt Member.

I did the Saddle Sore 1000 and BunBurner 1500 this past summer on a Honda Spirit.

I have a 50cc planned for next summer.

Visit often. I sure we can benefit from your experience.

AL, i am glad to see a forum of this nature. I am a reentry rider after 37 years. I ride about 500 local miles a week now. I ride an older vulcan that i plan to use to take some longer trips on about 2 to 3 times a year. Longer = 1000 to 2000 miles. Thanks for the forum

I just returned to riding myself. I'm sure we will learn a lot from those that have been touring for awhile.

Great idea and I think this will be a popular forum. Now can we use this forum to pressure Honda to come out with a VTX Interstate model?

"VTX Interstate."

You'll just have to do it like I did my Spirit, once I realized that I should have bought a Tourer. Convert it.

good luck Alan - i shut down the GoldWing Files when i sold the wing - thats when the Goldwing forum was put on line - but the goldwing forum never did really catch on - and my old GoldWing Files didn't set the world on fire - takes a lot of work to get one of these forums running and keep the guys coming back - but i like your choice of titles - the forum should do well - i wish you the best of luck - i started another forum 5 or 6 weeks ago - and it took off from day one - it's a winner

Tom, I rode one of the V-Stars at the Hoot. That was one of the smoothest shifting bikes I have ever ridden.

We were waiting around for a demo on the Gold Wings and noticed that they were signing up riders, which was unusual for early afternoon. We signed up and had a blast for the first 20 miles. The next 7 miles were an absolute downpour. Why I don't know, but about 3 miles from getting back they pulled over under a service station awning. Water ran down the back of my pants and filled my boots.

We returned to the applaud of a crowd.

I used to have an engraving business, all cnc and laser. I wish I had the talent to do the cool stuff that you are doing.

i have been with delphi for many years - it can be a pain at times - but over all it's the best 4mat for a forum i have seen - the sig files are fun - being able to post pic's is a huge plus - we will have to pay a few buck in the near future - but the price is right - well worth it - i got a feeling you will do well here - tommy
