While I was waiting for my "new" pipes to be installed at ABC H-D in Michigan, I read (like 50 times) a new motorcycle magazine at the counter, and it had a product ad in it that was interesting. It was a rubbery slip-on cushion dealie to put on your shifter to keep it from marring or wearing a hole through the top of your left boot.

Since I actually experienced this awhile back--a hole all the way through the leather upper on my left H-D boot--I thought I'd look it up. I found the website: http://www.shiftcush.com/

Anybody else ever hear of this? Or try it?

That's a great find. I use a heal toe shifter on my cruizer but have a lot of friends I'll show this to. -Boomer

I found the thread where I'd posted the pic of my last boots, which were done in by my shifter peg: 153.17

Edit: I'll just display the pic here...

And you guys laugh at us heel-shifter users! :-) I saved money on the boots and not having to buy the cushie. Admit it, you've always wanted a heel shifter! :-D

Not I! Heck, I don't even like floorboards. :)  I think I might order this cushie deal, though, just to try it out. I wouldn't want to wear a hole through my nice, waterproof Sidis!

deb - that hole in your boot is a badge of honor & should be worn for all to see - you know Hawg rides bare footed - you should see his hole

It's not a matter of the *appearance*... it's just that a hole allows things like rain to come right in and soak my socks!  :) I'd had those boots resoled a bunch of times, but the shoe repair guys couldn't do anything about the upper. New boot time.

Who says you gotta have floorboards for a heel shifter? :-)

That hole was way too big for Shoe Goo! Although that's another product I've always loved... :)

LOL! That's a great idea. I think I already tossed them, unfortunately. They would've looked great in my garden, though.
