Oh my god, Keith! This is so horrible, I can hardly express my sadness for you. If there is any justice or karma in this world you will get your equipment back and the b*stard(s) who took it will pay dearly. This must've been done by someone who knows you or has been to one of your shows. I'm assuming you've filed a police report. I live in Massachusetts so there's not much for me to be on the lookout for here. My heart goes out to you. This is an unconscionable act. With any hope someone will recognize the equipment when it's out in the open.

Please keep us updated. I'll be thinking about you, bro.

- Keith (the other one)

I read this post on several forums, and everytime I read it I get a pit in my stomach for you.  I hope and pray you get your stuff back.

Not to pry into all the details, but out of this entire experience, does your home insurance, or any other insurance cover this?

After reading this, I am considering getting gear insurance...  If it exists...

Anyone have any providers that they can recommend?

In this tragedy, I think there should be a KEY lesson learned for everyone.  Whether its one or 100 guitars or 1 or 100 effects, its still a lost.  And for those of us emotionally attached to their stuff I know you can never replace an original, but at least there is some solice in knowing you can replace it with a like item, without taking it in the shorts.

Does anyone know?

Hi,Thanks for all the support.I have no way of getting any money for these things that were stolen..All I can say is Make damn sure you have pictures and serial numbers or secret labels on all your gear. Then give a copy to your parents,x-girfriends,self, etc..so you will always have it..I am hoping to at least get the 5 pedals and 2 guitars the douchebag sold on ebay after I told him he was selling stolen items..I bid 500 on an sd-1 just to be sure I won the auction.when the pedal arived it had analogmike's and my name written inside..Cross your fingers..Keith
PS... Satch.EJ. if you are reading this call me..

Hey Keith,

I put a link to this thread on my home page so more people will see it.

I don't know if you can post info due to police confidentiality, but if you can, please post info on the guy who sold the stuff to the pawn shop who ebayed it,. and the pawn shop too. How the hell can they sell stolen goods? In this state they will lose their license if you show they sold stolen goods...

Yea, same here... pawn shops are scared of buying stolen goods for that reason. I wonder if the pawn shop was somehow in on it? A friend of a friend kind of thing.

The Guy that sold my stolen pedals and my Gibson CS-336 and one of my Tele's name is James Blevin. He is from the Raleigh Durham NC. area.He was born 10/79..I assume he has connections in Columbus ga./Phenix City ala. area..
The guy he sold the gear to has a pawn shop in Durham. His name is Chuck Wagoner. His ebay name is Carolinapawntrader...He also has 7 or 8 other Pawn Shops in the area.
I notified Chuck about the stolen goods before the auctions for the pedals ended.( Item #'s 7404577521,7404579728,7404586389,7404581360,7404584833)I sent pictures, and discriptions. His reply was contact Durham PD...I went ahead and bought one of the pedals off ebay(Item # 7404583102).When the pedal arrived UPS and I opened the box and removed the Boss SD-1.Analogman was almost wiped off the unit, but myname and a personal message from Mike Piera was still written inside the pedal. At this point I called Chuck and told him.I begged him to please tell the police and to please not ship the other pedals or the Gibson guitar auction(7404879551) that was going to be ending..Well he showed no remorse or concern(I am 500+ miles away).
Guess what?? When the police finally got there all the items were gone.(Pawnshops and NC.laws really suck).
I spoke to two of the fellas that bought my pedals and they were cool about it and made an id for me..The guy that bought the guitar gave no reply. The same goes for my Ts-9 and BF-2 and OC-2..
AS of today James Blevin has not been arrested or questioned..And the onlygear I have recovered is the Boss sd-1 I purchased..Carolinapawntrader didn't even make an offer to refund my money. He made no offer to me to have the stolen items returned to him and refund his buyers..
If you live in North Carolina you need to write your State DA and Congressman and have them change the laws for pawnshops. If this would have happened n georgia I would have got all those items back no problem..Keith

Its amazing how apathetic and uncompassionate people can be.
Id at least sell it back to you for double the price, lol.
When Sonic Youth lost their gear they put up posters that said
"we'd rather buy it back from you than lose it forever" and i think
they only ever got 3 guitars after 7 years.
I hope you have better luck. Seriously.

Hi,

I don't understand. Isn't selling stolen property a felony in the United States? I'm sure being in possession of stolen property brings a penalty as well. How can people buy and sell stolen goods? Maybe the ones you should notify is ebay? I have no clue. If you can't arrest a felon then the only way to get into prison these days is to copy a DVD...

Your very correct there. Local North Carolina police waste their time giving poor 16 year olds speed tickets for going 45mph in a 35mph zone. I'd rather they try protecting our homes.

Other law enforcement agencies waste their time trying to stop software piracy in the form of mp3 and movie files. The only people they catch and hurt are middle class moms and dads whos 13 year old girl just downloaded the latest Eminem song from KaZaa. Its sad, its a waste of our tax money, and its 110% futile in every way.

Dont be foolish Reticon. Dont you understand? The movie and
music industry had millions to lobby for the Digital Millenium Copyright Act.
Did you lobby to have your rights protected?
If so, then you didnt spend enough - which means you didnt care
that much to begin with, so you cant complain.

(Obviously that was sarcasm, lol)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management

"An oft-cited example of DRM overreach is Adobe Systems' release in 2000 of a public domain work, Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, with DRM controls asserting that "this book cannot be read aloud" and so disabling use of the text-to-speech feature normally available in Adobe's eBook Reader."
