On the other hand ..... lets relax, sit back and see what they have to say.

Sometimes head butts lead to nowhere.  Cool calculative thinking wins the day.

He said Internet users who post on forums such as Sammyboy tend not to be interested in 'intellectual debate' and so will not be persuaded by PAP activists anyway. >>

Let them come, one and all. It will be interesting to see those 'intellectual debate' by pappies. I for one would like to be persuaded.

How to have an intellectual debate with people who insist 66.6% is a mandate; who thinks of fixing the opposition and who puts hum in their mee siam.

Yeah man. This is what forums are about.

If the pappies don't come in and debate they are as good as talk only. I have yet to see a nice intellectual discussion led by the pappies.

I will be happy to and welcome and counter those PAP online activists.

Besides, pro-PAP people have been in this forums for a long time now, and I have successfully countered their arguments.

These spies have been doing their dirty work for years. If you go to the emigrating discussion here, you will see many cut-and-paste articles of supposedly negative news about foreign countries. I don't think the efforts of these idiots have the desired effect on anyone. They just create more hatred and resentment for their PAP masters.

They can always try. Or forever try to fix the opposition and continue to put hum in their mee siam.

They have not done any damage so far. Seems like they are good only for making loud noises and proclamations for the PAP!

I think it is rather telling that when it comes to the internet, the PAP uses phrases such as "manage" or "counter". They seem to be taking it as some kind of antagonistic war.

This is counter-productive.

Why can't they just take the internet for what it is - a marketplace of different views?

Anyway, it is interesting to see how it will all pan out. I think George Yeo and Ephraim Loy were sent out to 'test the water' on the internet. And the result is not so encouraging for them.

Thus, they're taking am more 'war-like' approach.

The thing is, the PAP has all the resources - including changing laws on defamation and libel if they do not make much headway on the net themselves.

We'll see.

It is ok if the pro-PAP moles uses nicks.

I hope at least they can identify themselves as taking a pro-PAP stance so that at least we can have intelligent debate (not vulgar mutual insults) and hopefully, the view of the Samsters here can be fed back to the higher authorities.

I have no qualms about PAP lackeys coming in here and reading all that we have to say, but what annoyed me was the mindset of the establishment towards disagreeing minds, using words like "dissidents" and "rabble-rousers".

It is one thing to be a dissident against Sinkapore; it is another to be one against the corrupt PAP.

I would like a chance to go into forums like STOMP too, to 'clarify and manage their views'. But my personal details are required, which is a violation of my cyber-freedom.

The very same cyber freedom which the PAP lackeys use to post here anonymously!

Sounds to me like it is going to be a 'ground war' between foot soldiers of the opposition and the PAP.

Should be interesting if it is.
