This is an online community and a Forum where all of us can post information, poems, essays, questions, and get the latest schedules for the
The Poets and Writers Series
The Non-Virtual Chat Room - and it's Online Counterpart
TouchStone InterFaith Temple
Our Satellite Sister Series, The CrossXRoads Literary Series in Plymouth
There is also a folder to find out about events in other series and arts events. Feel free to start a thread for your series in this folder.
If you are new to the CRWS and the NVCR, the next several posts in this folder will give you a bit of our history in Community Building through the Spoken Word and in Presenting Poetry, Poetry Performance, Workshops, Community Events, Discussion Groups and in Sponsoring other Arts Events.
Please feel free to join in the discussion by adding your poems, thoughts on poetry, essays on poetry and philosophy to the various folders you see at the left of the screen. Also, this Forum is here to serve the needs of the Poetry Community. Please feel free to post notice of your readings in the appropriate folders. I will contact as many venue leaders as I can to invite you to post your events here.
I have posted a start to each folder to show the dynamics of how they work. Feel free to add to the threads I have started or start new threads using the “Post New” feature in the left hand columns.
The key to getting around the Forum is the “Messages” tab and the list of folders in the left-hand frame. You can select discussions in the left-hand frame and read up to 20 messages at a time. The “Select” Button lets you read all messages in the Forum, or to list only those you haven’t read.
You can reply to a "thread," (a series of related postings) by clicking on "reply" after the post you want to reply to.
To start a NEW THREAD or to POST A NEW POEM, ESSAY or TOPIC, click on "Post New" in the folders section to the left of the screen.
You can even attach files (such as pictures and text files) directly to messages -- just like e-mail. As Delphi says, it is fast, easy, and efficient. We have limited space for attachments, so I might eventually have to devise an archive system for such postings.
I strongly advise you to compose your posts in a word processor or email and then copy and paste them into the forum. If your Internet service is disrupted while you are typing, you will loose all your work!
As the Forum "Host," I have chosen to make the CRWS and NVCR Forum public so anyone from all over the world can participate. Please feel free to invite your friends.
I have set up a chat room as well so all of us can chat online no matter what ISP you are using. Feel free to set up and schedule regular times for chats. You can also make your own chat room in addition to the permanent one in the Forum. This service is available to anyone and can unite members of your communities in a chat environment even if you are in different countries and on different Internet systems.
The next message in this discussion (or thread) will provide a few of the guidelines for using the Forum and making the experience of posting a good one for our growing community.
The best way to get to the CRWS and NVCR Forum is to BookMark the URL that got you here:
http://Forums.DelphiForums.com/CrossXRoads/
Remember The “X” in CrossXRoads.
Delphi also offers thousands of other Forums on many different topics. You can use the personalized "My Forums" feature at http://myforums.com to keep track of new messages in this Forum and any others you may enjoy.
If you’ve not participated in a Delphi Forums online community before, you'll need to go through a quick registration. . It only takes a minute and it's free. The registration helps Delphi provide personalized services and access control.
Please feel free to participate in the CRWS and NVCR Forum. I believe that it will prove to be a great way to further build our community of poets, artists, musicians and the entire Artist's Colony of Southeastern Michigan.
Namaste and Shanti,
