What is The Quilting Bee
A quilting bee is a gathering of quilters who come together to begin, work on, or complete, a quilt. In the "olden days," quilting bees were commonplace events in order to accommodate the quick completion of a quilt, usually for special occasions such as weddings. Today, quilting bees are common place gatherings to enable the quick completion of multiple quilts for charitable projects, such as Project Linus.
The Quilting Bee forum was created by a group of online friends to have a place to meet where we can discuss anything, and everything, quilting, or not. We will work towards challenging each other to better our quilting skills, and even learn some new techniques. There will be swaps, and block challenges, as well as the annual Quilt Challenge for Project Linus, co-sponsored by QuiltPox.com.
So, come and join our quilting bee. We are glad to have you.
Busy Bees Comfort Quilts Project
In support of Project Linus, and other local organizations (upon approval), we have started the Busy Bees Comfort Quilts Project (BBCQ) on the forum. Please see master thread:

As you will soon find, we have a Bee theme here at The Quilting Bee. (TQB for short.) So, we thought you might need a little cheat sheet on content for each folder. Keep in mind, we are fresh and evolving. If we change any folder names, we will update this master list on the start page.

In Memoriam...
In the excitement and energy brought on by a new forum, a new adventure for quilting friends, I am filled with perklempt that three of our friends are not here to join us. Jan (JANJ1), Patty (PATTYNPIECES) and Ann (BUMBLENANN) may no longer be here with us in person, but their spirits, I know, have followed us here in this new endeavor. I can almost hear Patty's exclamation when she sees the 2009 Challenge fabric. We miss you ladies.
