CYMBIDIUM SOCIETY OF AMERICA

This is a forum for fun and lively discussions about everything cymbidiums, paphiopedilums and other cool-growing orchids. It’s the interactive part of the CSA website.

If you are a new member to this forum, Please visit the CSA website for more information about membership, plant culture and branch club information. You can access the website by clicking on the "Webpage" tab near the top of this page.

You do not, however, need to belong to CSA in order to participate in the Forum.  Feel free to participate as much as you'd like.

When posting questions, please include information about where you live and how you grow your plants. This information will speak volumes and allow us to help you in a more detailed way.

Jim Lothrop is the forum moderator.

FORUM GUIDELINES

There's no need for a long list of rules. Be nice, identify yourself by your real name, and don't criticize others on this forum.  If you follow those simple rules, you'll be welcome to participate.  If you don't, your ability to participate will be taken away.  Below are instructions for you to become a member and participate fully in the Forum.

Because of past abuse of the CSA forum by a few members, we require all members to use a version of their real name as their nickname, or user name.  We have had some people use multiple e-mail addresses and pretend they were other people and log on using a nickname that was close to the one of the person they were impersonating.  Then they would make inappropriate remarks about others.  This seems to be the only way to stop them.

As an example, if your name is Jo Smith and you normally use CYMGREAT as your nickname, we want you to go to the forum and on the page where you see messages, go to the right top of the page and click on the “My Forums” tab under the word Prospero.

That will take you to the page where you’ll go to the lower left and click on “My Preferences”.  There you’ll find a category to change your nickname.  Now, our hypothetical Jo Smith has three choices.  He/she can either be CYMGREAT(JSmith) or JSMITH or JoSmith.

If you already have a nickname in the new format, we have given you “voice” in the forum already and no action is necessary.  If you need to change, do that.  Then, when you post your first message, it will go me, Jim Lothrop (jdlothrop), for verification.  Then I will give you “voice” and you won’t have to be diverted again.
