Proudly she stands as her child takes a vow
To honor and protect this country of theirs
To keep it from harm, no matter how.
"Keep them safe" is her whispered prayer. Wasn't it just yesterday they began to walk.
And now here they march into their futures.
Marking cadence like the ticking of a clock.
Taking one day at a time, nothings for sure. Oh how her heart aches with the love she feels.
For this child of hers who had grown into adulthood.
And yet, still her baby full of adventurous squeels.
She embraces those memories so precious and good. And knows no matter what this journey may hold.
Her loved ones will forever be More precious than gold.
