This forum is a place of acceptance for people who have chosen to have one child or no children. It's also a place of acceptance for people who have never married. Some posters here fall under one of those categories, some under two, some under none.
The moderators for this forum are Spaypet, dck133, and Joannanh.
Why I, SPAYPET, created this forum: I am trying to bring awareness and acceptance of the one child and childfree family and person. I am also trying to bring awareness of the choice not to marry.
I am hoping that society can better accept and understand that some people don't want children, or just don't want to be parents. I am hoping that society can better accept and understand that some people just want to stop at one child. Why? Because no one should have a child that doesn't want one. Noone should become a parent when he or she knows he or she would make a lousy parent. Perhaps if society begins to accept childfree choices and one child choices there would be less unwanted children in the world.
Some things I'd like to point out:
Why do we have posts about bad parent stories? Because it proves that having children is not for everyone. Some people should never have kids!Many people say "Oh, you've got to have kids! They're so much fun!" Really? Not to everyone they are, hence the stories.
In addition, many people say: "You've got to have more than one child! A child needs siblings!" Or "A child will be lonely!" No. What people need to do is what's best for their family. If they can only handle, afford, or take care of one child then that's enough for them. Every child deserves to be loved and wanted.
Finally, you will see that some posters dislike or even hate children. Guess what? Some people dislke and hate dogs! Aren't you glad they don't have any? See next paragraph for further info on that:
You will notice that some people may have a different take on children, babies and parenting than you do. My advice: Take what you want and leave the rest.

Finally, I want you to be able to enjoy this forum. If you are angry, offended, etc by a poster, please let them know in a civilized manner. Use the ignore button freely. In other words, please refrain from any mud slinging. Venting is allowed when it is directed towards the public's narrow view of our choices.
