| | | Welcome | | | On Our Feet - Joint Replacement Forum
Welcome! This forum is THE place where you can network with others who have had joint replacement surgery or are thinking of having it. Share your success story ... or horror story ... give tips to others about to have the operation ... ask questions about what others have gone through. This is your forum, so don't be afraid to jump in and post!
Celebrating 10+ Years! The On Our Feet forum turned 10 years old in June 2008. We've had an incredible decade of mutual support, friendship, tips, crying on each other's virtual shoulders and celebrating each other's successes. We hope you'll join us and help us make our next 10 years just as fun and uplifting.
There are no real "rules" on this forum. I will not "censor" any post or opinion related to the topic of TKR, THR, knee surgery, surgery in general, hospital stays, rehabs ... anything on topic. However, spam messages and blatant advertising are not welcome and will be deleted.
I don't make any money from this forum or have any sponsorships, so I have no personal stake in whether a person chooses to have surgery. I just want people to be able to share information and make the decision that is right for them!
Please note: For the most part, the people posting here are not doctors. They are individuals who are posting about their own experiences. Please take the time to read a variety of stories and post your questions for others to answer, so you can sample a broad range of opinions on TKR surgery. And again, feel free to post your own story!
My only "rules" are that you must respect each other and keep profanity to a minimum -- this is a PG-13 forum, because we do occasionally discuss sensitive medical matters, but I won't tolerate gratuitous foul language or personal attacks of any kind.
Your Forum Moderator is me -- Robin (screen name HIERAN), who had my first TKR in 1998 at the age of 27. You can read more about my experiences at my website: Robin's Total Knee Replacement.
Another quick note: If you have a Basic forum membership and decide to upgrade to DelphiPlus or DelphiAdvanced, consider doing so through my forum. If you do, a small bonus will be deposited into a Forum Fund, which I can use to pay the yearly Forum dues and also to pay for ad-free days, weeks and months!
Last but not least, so many people on the forum have recommended the book A Patient's Guide to Knee and Hip Replacement that I've provided a link here to purchase the book on Amazon.com. Again -- if you do click this link and buy the book -- I will receive a few cents, which will go into our Forum Fund.
