Tad Wigmore - I live in Winnipeg, Canada. As an army brat I have lived in England, Germany, Australia, and all across this huge country. I first started painting figures when I saw breathtakingly realistic Historex conversions in a hobby shop in Ottawa, a very long time ago. I have had the pleasure, and honour, of being able to try and learn from Shep Paine, and Rick Taylor. I have only been able to attend one large show, and that was Chicago in 1996. All I can say is if you can go to a big show, then go. I have joined the MMSI, since then, and friends have kindly taken some of my work to the more recent shows. It is a real pleasure to see all the fantastic work available for us, and read the numerous magazines, and post to each other over the net. This seems to be a great time to be a figurine enthusiast, though there is a definite shortage of time, and money :-) |
