Showcase
A place for writers and readers to get together and share thoughts and ideas.
Nicolas and Helen started this forum as a place to share their own writing, and to read the scribblings of other aspiring writers.
Nicolas is a retired journalist, currently living in England.
Helen is a paralegal, working in a divorce practice in Tennessee.
They have collaborated on several books, and until a publisher is interested in one, they will be here, for all the world to read, without paying the $6.95 for a paperback.
So come here first, for all your purple prose needs.
A short description of what you will find, and links to get you there:
The Welcome Folder: The place to introduce yourself, to ask permission to the Adult's folder, and generally to say 'hi'.
Essays :articles, sometimes humorous, sometimes thoughtful, always truthful. Children's Hour: For children of all ages, and especially appropriate to read aloud. Short Stories: According to English Comp 101, for works of fiction that can be read in one sitting.
There are only a few rules here:
Read what you like.
Post your own writings.
Copyrights belong to the author of the piece. If you are posting something found on another website, please post a short clip, along with a link to the site. We take copyright violations very seriously, as does Delphi. If you are the copyright holder of a work, please put your name on it. If you are posting someone else's work with their express permission, or it if has previously been printed elsewhere, please give credit. You will see examples as you read through. Please post your writings in the BODY OF THE POST, not as an attachment. Not only is it easier for the reader to navigate, but you'll need to clean out those attachments and you're chapter will disappear.
There is an adults only folder. Please remember to keep any matter of an adult nature there, away from tender eyes.
And finally:
Say what you mean.
Mean what you say.
Just don't say it mean.
