I know nothing about Kindles. Is there a fee to use them? Does one need wifi?
I have a Samsung tablet filled with genealogy. Can I put books on it?

Keep the books...I've gone without the computer for long stretches at a time so that's no biggie.

Well, let's see.  I spend the weekend reading and never even fire up the laptop at home.  I guess I'd give up the computer.  bigSmile

I love my print books ... but I've grown really really fond of my kindle.  Yes, you do have to buy one.  All the book places ..amazon ...barnes & noble ... etc have their own version of an e-reader.  I happen to like amazon because the book choices are jut never ending.  You will need wi-fi.  You order an e-book and seconds later it will download to your kindle.

I know nothing of tablets ..have never had one. SO I'm not sure what you can and cannot do with one.

I can't give up my computer ... I use it for so many things.  And  can download to my kindle ... or to my kindle online.

If I could several days without using my computer, I would probably change my answer  :-)

When I'd go visit my mother I'd be without my computer for 2-3 weeks at a time and found I didn't really miss it all that much.
