It's nice you can agree to dusagree and still discuss whar you read.

My son is my best friend.  I can say anything to him without worrying about how he will react.  He feels the same about me.  We wouldn't be house-sharing if we couldn't.  So discussing books gets a little lively from time to time, we usually both get a lot of laughs ... and one discussion usually leads to another, so it's always different,  :-)

That sounds like a well balanced book club. It was so boring in the one I was in. Many were afraid to disagree with the founder.

The founder was probably looking for sycophants, nice to have everyone agree with you, right?

Lol. Maybe that is why the group disbanded?

I wish all book clubs would be this way ...  how boring if we all felt / thought exactly the same way.  Where's the fun in that!

We did Harry Potter. One person came up with what I felt was a great comparison. She said it was the tale of a foster child in an unhappy home. No one else thought of it.

That makes it sound a bit more interesting for me  :-)   One of these days I'm gonna have to read at least the first book  :-)

So many people have recommended that I at least read the first book.  I think there are some bets on whether I'll continue reading the series  :-)
