Other than a couple personal experiences I found absurd, I don't have anything.
The first experience was when I was a good xian boy, I had just gotten back from preaching the gospel to the heathen, when I was bored and picked up a copy of Frankenstein ( excellent book ). When it was discovered I was reading it, there was such an uproar! I was reading a horror book! I wasn't reading the bible! Never mind that the book is about a man facing severe consequences for playing God. All they knew was that Boris Karloff played the monster in a rather loose movie adaptation. And it wasn't the bible or some book I picked up from a televangelist! Oh no!
The second is after I'd moved to Albuquerque, I was living peacefully in my little studio apartment behind a house owned by my brother in law ( he had the property set up so there were 3 apartments attached to the property. ). At about 10 am one Saturday morning, these well dressed guys ranging from about 13 to 30 ( 3 of them ) knock on my door. I groggily wake up and answer muttering to myself that it had better be important because the kitchen and, thus, the large butcher knife were'nt more than 6 feet away and they'd woken me up on a Saturday.
So I'm greeted by these 3 guys who ask me, "Do you speak Spanish?"
*huh?* "Enough to get along but not fluently. Why?"
Them: "Oh. Well, we were looking for Hispanic men who wanted a close relationship w/ Christ. We're sorry to bother you. ( Heavily scripted. )"
GREAT! God's got an affirmative action program! I can't get into heaven 'cause they've got quotas to meet!
"...for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
