If the libraries are closed, does that mean that "overdue books" are negated?

Depends on the local policy, locally, most fees are being waved for the emergency.

My local library is suspending and over due books/charges for the duration of the closure.

I agree with Cam.  I haven't heard anything about libraries or book stores closing.

Our library is closed until further notice. The book drop is open for returns, and a hold is put on hold until the library opens. Nothing moves out of the library. It's been like that for almost a week now.

Well, the main problem in my city is that people just drop their kids off at the library and use it as a babysitting service. All city facilities, rinks, the library, city hall and other such places have been closed to the public. Restaurants and other such places have been closed for a week now. The government is saying until about the 15th of April, but that's going to depend on how many more cases we get. City Hall says that the buses will still be running, for now, and that all March bus passes are good until the 30th of April. I'm not scared I'm going to catch it, but I have been in contact with people who have travelled outside of Canada and I have friends with at-risk family members. They don't need to catch something from me.

we're in pretty much the same shape here.  I was surprised at some closings .. like Starbucks.  The one out here by me is rather small .. .probably  couldn't put 6 people in there altogether.  I will be so glad when things return to normal ... if they ever do.

Normal? We have that any more? I'll be glad when the  panic dies down and the virus is contained. At least, I'll be glad until the next panic-fuelled incident occurs. Then it'll be wash, rinse, repeat.
