Hi! I'm really new at Polymer Clay and saw a video about wrapping pens with clay? What kind of pens do in need to bake with. If use Bic plastic they will melt, right or wrong. Or do u use pencils to wrap. Cynthia

Bic stick pens were very popular for a long time. I'm not sure they still make them, though - I have about six boxes full - they were 99cents a dozen when I bought them. They don't melt. Some store brands are the same plastic - but I suggest trying one or two in the oven first (take out the inner workings before baking) as some will shrink and warp.

I strongly suggest going with slightly ($3.75 each) more expensive pen kits from Boston Clayworks or somewhere similar: http://www.polymerclayprojects.com/AmazingTwist.htm

Because they produce a MUCH nicer finished pen.

For just a fun inexpensive pen you can still get the bic stic pen. They are now grey instead of white. But they still work.

I saw an ad tonight on the TV. Southwest is having a $64.00 ticket one way for a couple of weeks. Can't say for sure but maybe check them to see if I am hallucinating or not? :=D
