GOP Fights Back: House Republicans Launch Massive Assault Against Big Tech, Unveil 32 Bills

House Republicans launched an effort to rein in Big Tech’s growing tyranny with an onslaught of new bills in a massive push to fight back against online censorship.

Republicans in the House Energy and Commerce Committee unveiled a package of 32 bills to hold Big Tech accountable by reforming Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, protecting children and improving transparency, among other goals. “Big Tech has broken our trust that they can be good and responsible stewards of their platforms,” said Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA).

McMorris Rodgers did note that “the goal is for these drafts is to lead to concrete legislation and reforms. The Committee is asking for stakeholder and public engagement on these draft bills as part of their thoughtful process in their Big Tech Accountability platform to drive meaningful change.”

Twelve of the bills aimed to reform Section 230. The proposed reforms were directed at “Preserving Constitutionally Protected Speech,” and removing liability protections in cases involving child exploitation, doxxing, and terrorism.

Nine bills addressed content moderation practices of Big Tech companies. One bill, “Content Moderation on Child Trafficking,” would “require companies to implement reasonable content moderation practices to address child trafficking.” Another bill, “Lawful Content Protection,” aimed “to prevent companies from blocking or preventing access to lawful content, as well as degrading or impairing access to such content.”

Other bills aimed to protect the mental health of children online and provide additional accountability for Big Tech companies. The “Mental Health Impact Disclosure” bill, for example, would “require companies to disclose the mental health impact [of] their products and services on children.”

Republicans in the Energy and Commerce Committee understand the dangers that Big Tech censorship poses for Americans. “Guided by our Big Tech Accountability Platform, we are releasing discussion draft bills for Big Tech to be transparent, uphold American values for free speech, and stop their abuse of power that is harming our children,” said McMorris Rodgers in a press release.

       “Smart people are being silenced so stupid people won’t be offended.”

       While that is a sensational quote, my personal opinion is that smart people are being censored because evil people do not want to lose their power or go to jail.

Sky News: “Smart people are being silenced so stupid people won’t be offended.”

As YouTube’s fascist suspension of Sky News Australia continues, we advise readers to follow the skynews.com.au website.

Sky News host Alan Jones said the challenge to free speech “is real” and “we don’t seem to have a leader anywhere to defend it. Now the good news, you can find all our material, and tell your friends, on the skynews.com.au website.”

“We live in a time when smart people are being silenced so that stupid people won’t be offended.”

Sky News host Sharri Markson, who was key to uncovering the complicity between Dr. Anthony Fauci, the NIH, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Chinese Communist Party and the WHO, said that research done at the Wuhan Institute of Virology was “incredibly risky.”

“It was genetically modifying coronaviruses – in some cases it was gain-of-function experiments to make the viruses even more transmissible,” Mrs. Markson said.

Banned on YouTube – Watch Sharri Markson here!

“The general discussion at the moment has put the timeframe for the origins of the virus as November or December,” Markson told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “When in fact the conclusion I reach in my book and again what this Republican congressional report found as well, is that the likely timeframe for the first outbreak is actually September. And there is a lot of evidence for that September timeframe as when the virus first emerged.”

Twitter unlocks JTN reporter's account after CDC said his COVID vaccine tweet was correct

The CDC states that "some people should not get certain vaccines."

Twitter on Wednesday unlocked the account of a Just the News reporter after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the COVID-19 tweet in question was indeed correct.

The tweet Tuesday night stated a well established medical fact – one backed by the CDC – that not everyone should be injected with vaccines.

Reporter Greg Piper tweeted, "Vaccines are not safe for everyone."

The post also linked to a report by the higher education news website the College Fix detailing Brigham Young University's refusal to grant an exception to its vaccine mandate for a student with a potentially complicating medical condition.

Piper's appended remark is backed up by CDC guidance, which stipulates that "some people should not get certain vaccines or should wait before getting them."

Piper pointed out to Just the News that "every mandate has a medical exemption."

"I've appealed [the suspension], but Twitter is not letting me use direct messages, as it promised," he said. "It told me to delete the tweet and then my 12-hour lockout can start, but unless I delete the tweet, the appeal continues and has no deadline."

CDC spokesman Tom Skinner on Wednesday confirmed the agency's guidance on the risks that some individuals face from vaccines.

"If you have had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) or an immediate allergic reaction, even if it was not severe, to any ingredient in an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (such as polyethylene glycol), you should not get an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine," he told Just the News.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment on what appeared to be a ban for reciting a medical fact backed up by the CDC.

The social media company earlier this year vowed to combat what it called "vaccine misinformation" on its page.

Florida Gov. DeSantis signs bill holding social media platforms accountable for online censorship

The bill imposes daily fine $250,000 on media companies that suspend accounts of political candidates.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation Monday that cracks down on social media censorship and how big tech gathers user information.

The bill imposes a daily $250,000 fine on media companies that suspend the accounts of political candidates and requires companies to be transparent with their content-moderation practices.

"One of their major missions seems to be suppressing ideas that are either inconvenient to the narrative or which they personally disagree with," the Republican governor said.

Leading conservatives, Republicans including former President Trump, and others have repeatedly argued that platforms like Facebook and Twitter censure and block their content.

DeSantis signed the bill at Florida International University, in Miami ,with free speech advocates including Project Veritas' James O'Keefe by his side. The legislation was first introduced to the state's Senate on April 1 and was altered and approved by both chambers on April 29.

"Social media platforms that unfairly censor, shadow ban, de-platform, or apply post-prioritization algorithms to Florida candidates, Florida users, or Florida residents are not acting in good faith," the bill reads. "The state has a substantial interest in protecting its residents from inconsistent and unfair actions by social media platforms."

Users must be notified if their content is banned or censored including when posts are labeled as 'false information' or 'disputed' and users also have the ability to sue tech companies for violating the new law.

Florida, Texas lead states' rights resistance against Big Tech and Big Government

With laws, lawsuits and orders, two southern red states challenge America's tilt leftward as D.C. Republicans struggle to find their footing.

From open borders and COVID-19 to critical race theory and censorship, Florida and Texas have formed a vanguard against the leftward tilting of America by the Biden administration, the Democratic Congress and Big Tech.

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida and Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas have created a model for other GOP executives to use the states' rights enshrined in the Constitution's 10th Amendment to confront creeping government and monopolization, rallying conservatives who at times are frustrated that Republicans in Washington have failed to muster much resistance.

They've already rolled up a few wins, and unmistakably caught the attention of the Biden Justice Department, which on Friday sued Abbott for issuing an executive order prohibiting the transportation of illegal migrants through his state if they may be infected with COVID-19.

Texas seemed to relish a fresh chance to contest DOJ in federal court — where it has won other recent victories — and open another legal front for states' rights.

"I will always fight to protect the individual rights of Texans to decide what is best for themselves and their families," Paxton tweeted shortly after DOJ announced its action. "I will continue to oppose the Biden Admin as Democrats demonstrate their willingness to sacrifice freedom for government control."

Led by DeSantis, Florida has picked several of its own battles with Big Government and Big Tech.

When Democrats and their teachers' union allies began pushing earlier this year a school curriculum known as critical race theory — which espouses America is inherently racist — DeSantis mustered an executive order from his Education Department banning indoctrination in such ideologies.

"Florida's education system exists to create opportunity for our children," he noted in explaining his action. "Critical Race Theory teaches kids to hate our country and to hate each other. It is state-sanctioned racism and has no place in Florida schools."

Likewise, after a rash of conservative voices were censored from YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, DeSantis worked with the Florida Legislature to enact a law banning censorship based on political ideology.

Former President Donald Trump, who is banned on some of those platforms, immediately sued them under the state law as a Florida resident, and Twitter countersued the state to challenge the law, initiating a long legal process that will determine whether states can govern in the censorship debate.

"We are witnessing a catastrophe at the southern border under the Biden Administration," the Florida governor declared. "In recent months, we have seen people from the terrorist watch list, known sex offenders and a flood of fentanyl cross over the border. This is a national security crisis, and we must get it under control."

         "And while the world is reporting stunning benefits from ivermectin -- "Ivermectin obliterates 97% of Delhi cases" -- any mention of it in America is branded misinformation."

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/08/the_vaccine_experimental_times_two.html

The Vaccine: Experimental Times Two

If you don’t think vaccines are one of the great achievements of Western Civilization, just take a walk through a 19th-century cemetery and witness the reality of the human condition before them. However, the COVID vaccine is not a traditional vaccine. It is, instead, a huge experiment that can have major negative consequences and that our institutions are nevertheless trying to make mandatory.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s not that mRNA vaccines are inherently bad. They’re not. In fact, they are an extraordinary achievement in molecular biology. However, if not for mass censorship, it would be stunningly clear that the COVID vaccines have been causing an unacceptable level of adverse reactions, especially for a virus with a death rate of only 1/2 of 1%.
There’s a reason why new vaccine approval usually takes a decade or more. The immune system is complicated, highly variable between individuals, and in delicate balance. Immunocompromised individuals can succumb to any microbe...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That’s why rigorous testing is essential for any vaccine, and even then, every individual must weigh the risks versus benefits, just as they would for any approved medical treatment. But the COVID vaccines are not approved...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fauci has been busy not informing Americans of their options. Instead, he states “there should be more“ vaccine mandates and anyone objecting is “dangerous and extreme.” And while the world is reporting stunning benefits from ivermectin -- "Ivermectin obliterates 97% of Delhi cases" -- any mention of it in America is branded misinformation...They’re doing a pretty good job because Satoshi Omura, Nobel Prize winner for his work on Ivermectin, was censored from YouTube for daring to discuss his work.
What’s worse is that these vaccines are not just experimental; mRNA vaccines are a radical departure from traditional vaccines. Any vaccine rushed to market with Emergency Use Authorization would be called experimental; the COVID vaccines truly need a more alarming designation, say, “super” experimental?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Targeting mRNA-LNP to APCs is in its infancy. Most of the testing has been done in vitro, but studies have found little correlation with in vivo results. An in vivo study showed this targeting to be only 66% effective, so a full third of the mRNA-LNP is winding up in ordinary tissue. The consequences are very significant as the immune response in an ordinary cell is completely different from an APC.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Studies have shown that the spike protein itself has neurotoxic effects outside of the cell as well as causing clotting in the bloodstream. Using the spike protein for the antigen is what one researcher calls the “big mistake.” There is evidence the spike protein not only crosses the blood-brain barrier but is also preferentially absorbed by ACE2 expressive tissue including the heart, kidneys, ovaries, and arteries.
In a traditional vaccine, the dose is the dose but, here, the dose is dependent on highly variable cellular uptake of the mRNA-LNP, translation mechanisms from mRNA to protein, and the lifetime of the mRNA-LNP. Ordinary mRNA has a half-life of only a few minutes in the cell, and in that time the mRNA can make 10 to 100 spike proteins. But mRNA-1273 has been significantly modified to persist in the body 8-10 hours and have a 10-fold increase in translatability. Depending upon the individual, the dose of manufactured spike protein can be enormous.
It should be no wonder CDC’s VAERS site reports over 1000 cases of myocarditis, 600 miscarriages, 15,000 allergic reactions, and 5,000 deaths. What is a wonder is why the government is illegally colluding with Big Tech to suppress any word of this from getting out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

However, for healthy children and young adults, as well as the COVID recovered, where there is nearly no risk of death and only a minuscule chance of hospitalization, promoting these “super” experimental and potentially deadly vaccines in their current form is profoundly ill-advised.
