If true, and it is most likely true, it means Twitter investors and government entities have been lied to. This is very serious and a lot of people could go to prison. Notice that Jack Dorsey packed his bags and flew the coup very recently.

Until about five years ago, Twitter took a nearly absolutist position in defending the free expression of its users and disavowing censorship of any sort — one similar to the position taken by Musk today. At the policy level, Twitter promised its users that “we do not actively monitor user’s content and will not censor user content, except in limited circumstances” such as impersonation, violation of trademark or copyright, or “direct, specific threats of violence against others.”

Twitter Lost Its Way On Free Speech Right When Trump Announced

In the wake of Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, many commentators bemoaned Musk’s promises to end censorship on the platform. In so doing, these writers have spun a revisionist narrative. It alleges that, after 2016, Twitter nobly attempted to engage in responsible, politically neutral “content moderation” aimed narrowly at preventing threats and harassment. But now, supposedly, Musk’s purchase threatens to undo the platform’s “progress” in enhancing “user safety” and promoting civility.

This narrative, however, is baseless. In reality, Twitter’s practices and public statements on free speech changed dramatically around 2016, from a position of stringently defending the free speech rights of its users to bemoaning the entire concept. Indeed, Twitter’s post-2016 efforts at “content moderation” have been shot through with political bias, both at the policy and enforcement level.

The Shift Began in Late 2015

Twitter’s rhetoric began to change, however, in late 2015. ~~~~~~~ It soon became clear however, that Twitters new censorship efforts would be slanted against conservatives.

Twitter launches new purge of COVID contrarians while reckoning with Musk, free speech litigation

Several Twitter users known for questioning U.S. government COVID-19 messaging have found themselves locked out of their accounts or suspended, even as the social media company reckons with a takeover by pro-free-speech billionaire Elon Musk and advancing litigation by journalist Alex Berenson. ~~~~~~~

The notices from Twitter, often posted by allies of the silenced users, cite violation of its policy against sharing "misleading and potentially harmful information" about COVID.

A federal judge greenlit breach-of-contract claims in Berenson's lawsuit challenging his permanent suspension, which followed a tweet that said COVID vaccines neither stop infection nor transmission, both of which the CDC has acknowledged for several months. ~~~~~~~

The same day Twitter permanently booted Daniel Kotzin, one of three sanctioned users jointly suing federal officials for coercing Twitter to censor purported COVID misinformation. It flagged his tweet citing "known potential side effects" of COVID vaccines, including myocarditis, "blood clots, and strokes."

Audit finds half of Joe Biden’s Twitter followers are fake

Nearly half of President Biden’s 22.2 million Twitter followers are bogus, a new audit revealed.

The audit, which was done for the social media giant by software firm SparkToro, found that 49.3% of the president’s followers are “fake followers,” according to Newsweek.

SparkToro has defined “fake followers” as “accounts that are unreachable and will not see the account’s tweets (either because they’re spam, bots, propaganda, etc. or because they’re no longer active on Twitter).”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is attempting to buy Twitter, has expressed concern over the growing number of fake accounts and proposed a potential crackdown on the sham accounts.

Musk said he believes that 20% of all Twitter accounts are fake and vowed to not go through with his $44 billion purchase of the social media giant until the issue is resolved.

“My offer was based on Twitter’s SEC filings being accurate,” Musk said.

“Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of <5%. This deal cannot move forward until he does.”

“I’m worried that Twitter has a disincentive to reduce spam, as it reduces perceived daily users,” Musk said in a series of tweets on May 21. “They still refuse to explain how they calculate that 5% of daily users are fake/spam! Very suspicious.”

Jack Dorsey's timing on packing his bags and moving away from his baby (Twitter), is ever more suspicious.

Musk Suggests Slashing Twitter Takeover Offer Based on Bot Numbers

Elon Musk has suggested he wants to slash his initial $44 billion takeover bid for social media platform Twitter after accounting for the proportion of bots present on the micro blogging site.

“I’m worried that Twitter has a disincentive to reduce spam, as it reduces perceived daily users,” Musk said in a series of tweets on May 21. “They still refuse to explain how they calculate that 5% of daily users are fake/spam! Very suspicious.”

When someone on Twitter pointed out that if 25 percent of users on Twitter are bots, then the acquisition deal should cost 25 percent less, Musk responded, “Absolutely.”

On May 13, Musk wrote on Twitter that the deal is “temporarily on hold” pending details supporting the company’s claim that fake or spam accounts only make up 5 percent of total users.

According to a joint Twitter analysisconducted by SparkToro and Followerwonk that looked at 44,058 public Twitter accounts randomly selected from 130 million-plus accounts, 19.42 percent of them were spam or fake accounts—four times that of Twitter’s claim.

In a May 17 tweet, Musk insisted that his offer for a takeover was based on Twitter’s filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) being accurate. However, the company’s CEO has refused to show proof of fake accounts being only 5 percent, due to which “this deal cannot move forward until he does.”

However, Twitter filed a proxy statement with the SEC last week, which could complicate Musk’s push to reduce the deal offer. The Musk-Twitter deal was negotiated on April 23 and 24, and signed on April 25.

According to the deal, Musk has to pay $54.20 per share in cash, which is 41 percent more than the $38.29 per share the company was trading on May 23.

The proxy statement counters Musk’s attempt to reduce the offer value via identifying fake accounts by stating that the billionaire made no attempt to get more information on the issue while signing the deal.

“Prior to entry into the merger agreement, Mr. Musk did not ask to enter into a confidentiality agreement or seek from Twitter any non-public info regarding Twitter,” according to the proxy statement.

If Musk were to pull out of the deal, he would be obligated to pay $1 billion. The fact that Musk did not ask Twitter for more information on fake accounts before signing the deal means that he will have to prove that the company’s public filings were wrong, Ann Lipton, a professor at Tulane University Law School, told Reuters. This would be a high legal bar.

“Twitter has long said ‘this is our estimate of spam but we might be wrong.’ So it’s not clear that they said anything false,” Lipton said.

“Designed exclusively for Conservatives, TUSK allows you to get the news and information you want without the liberal bias… The TUSK browser allows you to determine the sources of your news and information.??”

You won't need ME as much...and that is definitely a good thing.

Game Changer? New Web Browser Launches, Target Market Is Conservatives

Is there even leftwing bias in our web browsers? You bet there is. Regardless of the browser you’re currently using, chances are it’s pointing you towards the political left. The effort may be only a subtle nudge, barely noticeable to those who aren’t paying attention. Then again, it could be hitting you in the face like a sledgehammer.

But there’s a new web browser available for use. Its name is TUSK, its owner and designer has been heavily influenced by conservative figures such as Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin, and as it says on its website, TUSK is:

“Designed exclusively for Conservatives, TUSK allows you to get the news and information you want without the liberal bias… The TUSK browser allows you to determine the sources of your news and information.??”

If you’re using Microsoft Edge, every time you open the browser or a new tab once the browser has been initiated, it will default to a newsfeed. You can adjust your settings for a multitude of preferences, but barring a heroic effort, you’re stuck with their newsfeed. Edge will politely include your local weather in the top left of the screen and provide a list of your most frequently visited sites for quick access. But below that is their newsfeed, and aside from perhaps a sport and human-interest story, the rest of the content will almost assuredly lean to the left, or perhaps the far-left.

The same can be said for the Chrome browser, or Mozilla Firefox, and other lesser-used browsers. Content they highlight will almost certainly point you toward leftwing news sources such as CNN, MSNBC, and the Huffington Post. But it’s not just the news feeds they use to force their propaganda down your throat, it’s also the “Search” functionality. Type in a topic in the “Search” field on Chrome, and which search engine controls the results? The openly leftist Google, of course. With Edge, the search engine is Bing which is owned and operated by Microsoft, which is just as left-leaning as Google. Big Tech is notoriously leftwing, and when we use their browsers and search engines, not only are we subjecting ourselves to consuming their narratives, we’re also putting money in their pockets.

According to Fox News, TUSK founder and CEO Jeff Bermant stated: “TUSK was developed with the idea of free speech, because if you go to other browsers and you go to their news feeds, you’ll find that its center left or it’s left and you weren’t getting the full story.”
