~~~ I was 'born' in Ultima Thule, then was here for a while when Astarte was in full swing ~~~
Ultima Thule! Used to see that all the time in sigs.
When Astarte was in full swing this was a very active place.
Seems like she was one of the first to restart chats on Delphi in 2000, too. (Chats kind of hit the skids around summer 1999 when Delphi was changing over to a new chat format which didn't work very well for months.)
~~~ I've been on a shelf gathering dust for a while, but thought I'd stroll through the old neighborhood ~~~

Visiting old haunts, so to speak. Quite a lot here, over 124,000 messages.

Wish some long-time active member who is Plus would request a transfer of the forum, dust things off, and get it going again. Even if he or she didn't have the time to run the place assts could be appointed. Should Tarte return the forum could be handed back if she wished.

~~~ what have you been up to,
On Delphi I've been active here and there and running chats.
and what is "Si"...and how long have you been a fan? ~~~
LQ! "Si" actually is a fan of scifi books and movies; but, that's not where the name comes from. "SiFan" comes from the Fu Manchu stories by Sax Rhomer.
Good thanks. I've got back into Karate and I'm also slowly learning how to use a bow and arrow. You have new family members?
Karate sounds neat! Any good? With archery it's important to have a decent bow. Yeah, we have new little kiddos getting born.
Congratulations! You're having twins? I love Karate. Soon I'll graduate to a bigger bow. Right now I'm using a children's bow just to start with because it's about my size! I'll be able to use a bigger bow so I can shoot from farther away too one day though. I've noticed the heavier the bow the better; maybe I can try my husband's soon.
Fortunately, with the modern compound bows you don't need to be really strong to draw and aim a pretty darn serious bow.
Not really except when visiting a niece. She has neat compound bow-- probably 30lb draw. (BTW, the earlier 60lb recommendation is approx. standard, but for men. A fairly 'normal' draw for women is around 25-35lb.)
Archery is fun, even if I'm not especially good at it.
You have a good place to practice with a target?
About the family newbies. One is a boy born to a nephew and wife in February. The other is a girl due in a 2-3 weeks from a nephew and his wife. Both nephews are sons of the same sister; so, she's naturally on cloud 9.
