Hey Posie !!
Another player from B.C. YAY!!!!
Thanks for replying to my post.
Did you read Dr. Henry's bio in that post?
Do you play on PC or iOS? I have games on each platform and we should be friends OK?
Hi datsa, sounds good. I don't get to spend as much time as I'd like on MC. I work, even though I am also kind of retired. I did read the bio. She is very special. I play on PC. My number is 705390. Do you work? I am in North Vancouver. Originally from Toronto, but I adore it here, could never move back!
I agree that the politics should be off this thread. We are here to check in on our friends, not debate.
Please, Jen, Start a "Politics" thread, or direct people to CoCo, so that MC postings are about each other, and not about the sh*t hitting the fan.
We all need a break from politics, sometimes, even though it affects our lives and death.
BTW, Coalition of the Confused can be a great place to debate, just ignore the trolls.
Don't worry Zoe, the topic has been dropped in here.
guess what the lady finally decided to show herself. thanks, stay happy and healthy, see you in the castle
So here is an update:
On Sat I received a text from a lady who works with me on the same unit (where we had covid cases) saying she tested positive. I also received an automated message from the facility later in the afternoon saying we had 2 more residents and 1 more employee test positive.
When I got to work today the number had increased to 17 residents and 8 employees. Since I usually worked on the unit where the cases came from I asked to be tested (even thought we are having facility wide testing tomorrow). Thankfully my test was negative (I had been taking my temp all weekend). I still plan on getting tested again tomorrow, since I really don't trust the "quick" test.
The facility had originally set aside 6 rooms for covid residents, needless to say management had to do some fast thinking. So they decided to lockdown the unit where most of the covid cases where, so that means I won't be working there because we have specific staff for that unit. The rest of the facility is still under strict infection control measures.
So you can imagine it has been very stressful, but we're hanging in there.......................
Stay safe everyone and wear your masks!!
OMG Tammy ... That just goes to show you how fast this virus spreads. I don't go out much anyway, but when I do I wear my mask.
Hopefully tomorrow's test will be negative also. Hang in there, gal!
This thing is so insidious. We just found out our adult granddaughter decided to do some partying in Cancun with friends last month. She started feeling sick about a week after she got home, finally had to go to ER for IV hydration and tested positive for COVID. She described the next 10 or so days as "hell", with every aspect possible of really bad flu. Had to have IV hydration twice. Thank goodness she's all well now. She didn't say anything about contact tracing, but it's not hard to imagine that EVERYONE she came in contact with is vulnerable.
Tammy, you and your co-workers are real heros. Stay strong, stay safe.
I don't go out much anyway, but when I do I wear my mask.
I'm much the same, been out of the house maybe six times this entire spring and summer, mask firmly on my face.
I have physical therapy once a week for my back issue so I go out for that. You have to wear a mask and everyone there is also wearing a mask. You call when you get there and wait in your car until they come to the door and signal you can come in. So there's only one person in the waiting room at a time and they immediately take your temp, have you use hand sanitizer and take you to the individual room for your therapy. I go out every other week to pick up my groceries and I wear a mask even though I don't have to get out of the car because the employee (wearing a mask) comes up to my car window. In the past six months I've been to my son's once, my daughter's once, my sister's once and my mother's maybe half a dozen times. I wear a mask each time. I've also had to go to a couple doctors during this time and I wear a mask. All but one of the doctors' offices were taking temps and making you use hand sanitizer and you had to wait in your car until they called/texted you to come in. The one office that wasn't doing anything other than wearing masks was my primary care physician - the one place I felt the most susceptible because someone else might come there with symptoms to see the doctor. I was very disappointed. The other doctors were specialists where you wouldn't go to be treated for a fever, etc.
My primary care physician told me I should go out and do more than I was doing. She explained that someone in my age bracket (I'm 68) living alone at home was only 1-2% likely to die from Covid-19. I looked her in the eye and told her it wasn't the dying I was concerned about - it was the suffering before I died. She didn't respond to that. And the only reason I went to see her was they were "holding my prescriptions hostage" until I went to the doctor.
I just want to be careful.
