Where can I find the dosage amounts for the horses that are entered in the Breeder's Cup
Races?

I know this sounds naive, but I only go to the races 3-4 times a year. Here goes the question...

Horses on my program are listed as also eligible, and have a number....Sooooo are they too a

part of the wagering pool? Do they get to race if there is a scratch? Are they actually a part of

the wager (field) or what? The race that I am referring to is the Nov 6...1 mile turf...and Gomez

is listed on both horses as the jockey. Usually I go to the track and get an official program...I

don't remember them listing the also eligible horses.

This actually has me stymied about getting on with the handicapping because I just can't
remember....Senior Moment!

Thanks, and by the way I have won a Superfecta once or twice...Thanks to you ALL!

Wagering won't open until the final fields are set.  An early scratch time is set (usually a day before the races) and IF any horses are scratched then trainers of also eligibles have the option of entering their horses into the race.

If the race can take 14 entries, then the also eligibles will have numbers 15 and up.  So, let's say horse number 8 scratches, then number 15 may get entered and can be bet on.

But hopefully this makes it clear... you can't bet at all until the entries are finalized after the early scratch time and when any also eligibles are actually entered.

Put to rest what you thought of me, while I clean the slate with the hands of uncertainty
