OK, meant to post this in "general," but I'm having a low IQ day.

I have a beautiful bracelet that my sister-in-law made for me a few years ago. The bracelet has a number of 8-10mm Swarvski cubes with AB coating. I noticed recently that the coating is looking a lot less "AB" than it used to.

I don't wear the bracelet all that often--maybe a few times per month--and I certainly don't wear it to bed or in the shower.

Is this a normal trait of Swarovski AB coatings?

I don't have a lot of experience with Swarovski AB coatings but the few pieces I own have not changed. I wonder if your sister could have been sold items incorrectly labeled as Swarovski? It will be interesting to hear from others with more experience with AB coatings.

Great to hear from you, but sorry about the dwindling sparkliness of the bracelet!  I haven't had a problem with Swarovski AB, but have only been using it for about 4 years and don't use very much.

Oh, yes, the ladies need beads. We added a lot of members, plus all of the weavers and knitters want to make jewelry. If only they could learn to crimp.

I have a bracelet I made with Swarovski's AB coated.  I wear it almost every day.  I don't notice any loss of the coating.  It gets a little dirty sometimes but the AB finish is still ok.
