Hi All,

Hope everyone is fine.  I have a, hopefully, simple question to ask.
Does anyone know of a sealant for paper, that is self-leveling and does not dry so shiningly, ( I am sealing the backs of papered glass tile pendants).  I am currently using Diamond Glaze.  I like it for sealing everything but the back of the tile.  It is shiny, yes, and that I dont mind as much as the uneven surface it leaves once dry.  I have tried using a bush, no brush, toothpick, and needle and still it just isn't drying level enough.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for all your help, in advance.  :)

I have used both 3D Crystal Lacquer and 3DG Art Gel to seal the back of my pendants. I also tried the same sealant I have used on polymer clay - Diamond Varathane. The Art Gel has a tendency to actually rise up, I think I will use it to fill in the front of pendants in place of resin. The crystal lacquer and the varathane both came out shiny and flat. For the price the varathane was the cheapest. I think they call the crystal lacquer "3D" because it seems to magnify the surface underneath.

Hope this helps,

Happy Beading, Sue

Hi trinkets,

You might be able to get a fairly level surface by vibrating the piece while the sealant is still wet.

Golden's makes a self-leveling acrylic gel medium that dries with a less shiny finish.  The only problem with it is that it's not quite as hard a surface as Diamond Glaze and the others.
