I have a new necklace to share but first let me tell you a little about the pendant. Recently I shared my news about being accepted into the Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts (GHCA). On the day I was visiting the gallery, the resident lapidary artist asked if I made pendants. He pulled out several gorgeous freeform shaped cabs and asked if I would like to have one. Well, of course, I couldn't turn down an offer like that so I picked out a beautiful jasper piece. I had to order some square copper wire because the colors in the jasper were just crying out for copper so I had to wait to begin work on it. I could see in my mind's eye what I wanted to do with it right away. Autumn leaves were the inspiration and I started pulling things out of my bead stash to use in the project. I finally completed the project with a combination of copper and sterling for the pendant. The necklace is a triple strand with picture jasper, red jasper, brecciated jasper, tiger eye, red tiger eye, Czech glass seed beads and a handmade, hammered sterling clasp.
I emailed photos to the lapidary artist today and hope he thinks I did his stone justice. Please let me know what you think of it.
