I'm having the time of my life. stuck inside on a rainy day, I, again, found HDTV on my Cable. I don't know what it means, Discovery HD Theater, it's new to me, but ...it's got Motorcycle Racing!
This afternoon, I leaned back in my easy chair, with a pot of hot coffee and a thick Tomato sandwich to watch Two wheelers roar around the Isle of Man, Monkeys climbing around on the back of sidecar bikes and, Hot dang!, Speedway.
My heart got to pumping so hard I was afraid I'd have to stop and look for high blood preassure pills. Then this movie, GP Racer, came on and I tried to calm down with a bit of International news. That was so depressing that I've run to the computer, with my coffee, to tell y'all what a great afternoon I've had.
The USA rider, Hancock, broke his bike. Flat rear tires don't work very good on that circle track.
Pederson was disqualified in the final and I got to watch him wind up his left foot and kick a chair.
All of the heats were exciting and the final was the best of all. Tight racing at speeds of better than 100mph on a 500cc bike, with no brakes, and a front -end so light that it looks almost like they are on a unicycle. You can't help but jump up out of your chair and yell, whether you know them or not. :-D
They speak English most of the time, but nothing close enough to American that I'm sure I understand. Still, I get the gist of the game. You see, they all start at the same time from the same line and the first one to complete 4 laps around the football field wins.
