I always seem to have a couple of goldenrods in my wildflower patch.  They started out as volunteers but now they're there and they are perennials so they come back every year.  This year I had two plants.  The weather knocked them over to the ground.  One got accidentally trampled and it died.  But the other one kept on growing.  It turned 90and pointed itself toward the sky.  Then I bought some support loops for the milkweeds and I used one to prop up the goldenrod.  But now the recent growth was horizontal.  No problem.  The plant turned 90o again and pointed itself toward the sky.  So now I have a goldenrod plant that has a 90o turn to the right followed by a 90o turn to the left.  Heh.

I've seen trees (rarely) like that.

How interesting.  Tough little plant.  Good photo.
