As horrible as the tax scam is, it has 2 possible benefits.  First, the Republicans don't need Trump anymore and won't be as resistant to his removal from office.  Second, the horrors of the tax scam will make the Republican losses in the 2018 Congressional elections even worse.

Also, a Democratic-controlled Congress can repeal all or part of the tax scam.

I have suspected that for awhile. They really wanted to get this passed, Now that they have, they will be free to do something to at least not stand in the way of Trump's political demise.

It's still going to be harder than people realize for Democrats to win elections in states that have been gerrymandered to ensure Republican victories even if they lose the support of up to 65% of voters.

No one is saying they can't get insurance -- just that they don't HAVE to if they don't want to.

They can't get insurance if they can't afford it, and with the removal of aid, millions will lose coverage.

But that's what we get under corporate fascism.

And do you have any knowledge or understanding of how hospitals get paid for their financial losses when those uninsured file bankruptcy? The hospitals charge insured and insurance companies higher amounts to recoup what they lost from the dead beat uninsured.

"No one is saying they can't get insurance -- just that they don't HAVE to if they don't want to."

Are you really that stupid?  It's been discussed 100,000 times since early 2009.  Private sector universal healthcare requires an individual mandate.  Otherwise mainly sick people will buy insurance and the cost of the health insurance will skyrocket.

No one is saying you can't buy a Cadillac - just that you don't have to buy one if you don't want to.  What's the problem?  You can't afford a Cadillac?  Tough shit.

Transferring the analogy back to health insurance.  Do you prefer paying (via increased premiums) for someone else's constant visits to the emergency room because he can neither afford health insurance nor the hideously overpriced drugs to treat his ailment?  If you're that stupid and that masochistic, you'll enjoy the demise the individual mandate.

Well, it IS fascist ideology that the "sick and weak" should die and make way for the stronger.
