Trump visited Louisiana, and on Twitter begged his followers to get rid of its Democratic governor.

The Democratic governor has won re-election, marking yet another loss for Trump.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards has stunned Republicans again, narrowly winning a second term Saturday as the Deep South’s only Democratic governor and handing Donald Trump another gubernatorial loss this year.

In the heart of Trump country, the moderate Edwards cobbled together enough cross-party support with his focus on bipartisan, state-specific issues to defeat Republican businessman Eddie Rispone, getting about 51% of the vote.

If Trump is viewed by senate Republicans as a bad luck charm, they'll be more likely to convict him in his near future senate trial.  That's probably the only thing Trump could do to alienate the Republican senators.

John bel Edwards is a VERY conservative Democrat, who kept the race local while the republicans tried to nationalize it and make it about trump. That’s how Beshear won in Kentucky and that’s how democrats will win, by keeping it local.
