We were in Alaska for a week and I didn't see one!

You had some nasty wind on your back forty this evening I see.

That was the fastest storm ever, amazing how so much damage can be done in a few minutes, nothing in the immediate neighborhood though. With the first peal of thunder Cat slithered off the couch into the bedroom closet, but it was over in no time. She came back out, checked her bowl - nothing new there - and went back to the couch for a nap after all that excitement.

Peeked under the hoop house today and here we have the 2011 spinach crop! 60 linear feet of spinach...mmmmmmmmmmm...at the far end about 50 onion plants.

Looks like you are spreading out - are you going into business selling spinach?

Nope have freezer, will freeze. Spinach under a hoop house is good since you can start after all crops are finished in the fall and it will be harvested before your spring planting starts.

The 2016 garden has been started! A flat of onion seeds and a flat of All Star Lettuce mix. The lettuce will be clipped with scissors direct to the dinner table. Lettuce won't even see direct sunlight!
