Florence, which has dumped up to 36 inches of rain on North Carolina since Thursday, was interrupting supply lines around the state and into neighboring South Carolina. Two North Carolina hog waste pits were structurally damaged, four were inundated with water and seven had discharges, according to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality.
